Either it is overwatering or overfertilization. Do you know what the TDS of your solution is? At the size the plants are at now, you should only be at around 500 or so ppm. What medium are you using? The roots may be drowning due to lack of air. Also, your PH should be around 5.6 in hydro, although I don't think that is your problem, but I would correct it to eliminate that possibility.

temp is low 70's and ph is 6.4 i dont know about humidity and im using a 400 watt mh with cool tube. all of this is in a grow tent in a closet

TDS = Total dissolved solids/salts

You will defnitely need a TDS meter when growing in hydro. I assume by your setup you're using the DWC method with the roots dangling just above the water line. How do the roots look? White and fuzzy or are they turning brown/slimey? If they are turning brown and/or slimey, that would indicate root rot. If they aren't then overwatering is not the issue. In any event, you'll need at least a basic TDS meter to verify how concentrated your nutrient solution is, without this, you're growing blind so to speak.

well the roots are a brownish tint but just the roots that were in the soil, the new roots are white. I will definatly get a tds meter.

are you using a air pump and air stones? What type of water are you using.... tap water... filtered water.. store bought water.... distilled water

tub is lightproof except for the water level strip but i can cover that easily enough. plants are still droopy and i still have this clear gel growing on the roots. What is that?

GOOD DEAL!!! The ppm should be a little higher depending on which stage you are in... let me read over this thread again and ill get back to you. For now get some recent pictures up
