Help grow tent extremely hot

Ok I just got a grow tent its a 4x4x6.5. I have a 600w HPS/MH and a 6 inch Carbon filter fan combo. My problem is I am running my light at 50% and temps are hitting 87 degrees. I really need to start running it at full power but I am scared because of how temps are already. My temps outside the tent is 76-77 degrees at all times. I have the carbon filter combo outside of the tent and ducting running inside the tent from the top sucking air from inside the tent. I have a 3 speed fan in the inside at lowest settings.

how is the plant looking to take to the heat. if she looks okay, i wouldnt be too worried. mine are in over 100, outdoor though. if you can keep the door open on the tent (asumming your privacy situation is in the clear). i would actually be more concerned about how close to the heat source the plant is. Pics?

Try turning your fan up all the way. At least you'll get some good air circulation in there. How far are the tops of the plants to your light?

I can keep the door open but to be honest I don't want to do that. The whole reason I purchase the tent was so I can hide the smell and to save light cause when I was growing in open room so much light was being wasted and it was hard to filter the smell. I feel like the tent is a damn hot box. I want to be off choppers radar...

Turning the fan all the way up will it be to much air flow??? My tops are about 16-18 inches away.

You have to figure a way to get that 77 degree air temp into your tent. Provide as much intake air as you can, using fans to force the air in. Hopefully your exhaust fan can get the hot air out. You really don't have to worry about smell that much until bloom, now you have to deal with heat. Leave the door open if needed, but excessive heat will definitely affect your crop. Peace

As long as the fan is moving around your plants it should be okay cranked up. I run 8 fans in my 5x7 room and they are all on high. Your bulb distance to the tops sounds right on. I have 2 grow rooms and only use one during the summer due to heat issues. What kind of plants indica or sativa? Sativa handles the heat much better then indicas. Good luck man.

I have some autos that are about 1month in flower

yes good idea dont want to affect your plants, aircooled hoods are the way to go, also sometimes thats not enough and you might have to add an aircondioner, thats what i had to do, eats up almost 8amps but its worth when im trimming them fat buds

I am/was in the same boat. i am in a basement grow. ambient temts are about 72/73* year round. I have a 4x4x7 tent with an air cooled tube/XL hood with a 440 cfm fan pulling hot air out the tube. i also run an 8" 420 cfm intake fan, and an 8" 420 exhaust fan, 3 5" clip type fans AND an 18" fan blowing under the ac tube to remove more heat. w/o the 18" at 100% power i was running at 86*+. at 75% power i ran 82*. then i did some testing and figuring out. there needs to be a fan blowing heat away from the bottom of the ac tube. this pertains to flowering/HPS only. my veg tent stays perfect at 77/78* lights on (also in 4x4x7 600w ac tube, 6" inlet, 8" exhaust, 6" 440 cfm for hood tube. i was going to buy a sealed glass bottom 6" air cooled hood and see if i can drop 2*, or maby even get rid of the 18" fan if i can drop 3+ degrees. im only 3 days into flower, and my highest temp has been 81*. so its holding, and im somewhat happy with the temps.

also, since im in flower, and seeing 81* temps, i now add silica in my waterings. i don't add when feeding. i do feed, water/silica, water/molasses/silica, feed. silica is supposed to help with arid temps, dryness, drought, and the like. i figured it couldn't hurt to add to my grow regimen.

thank you.

I mounted a 2x4 to the roof supports. removed the base to the 18" fan. drilled a hold thru the bottom of fan metal pole. then secure the fan pole to the 2x4 above. adjust the fan so it blows across the bottom of the hood. ill have to figure out a different mount when I have to raise the lights and girls get taller.

This is Okay ONLY for VEG.
Get your temps down before you flower.

Get a portable ac/window ac
and Make sure you have an intake fan
or/and put frozen water bottles in your intake fan.

Get the temps down for quality bud!

I would get a ac but that's too much power for me. I want to be in the safe range far as power. I already have the 600w hps, Fan, Carbon filter combo, cloner bucket and cloner 4 inch fan going at the same time. I want to stay at 1000w or less all together. Adding a ac would be to much for me.

Are you in the uk we had a heatwave in July there’s another one due this month I had a plant throw loads of nannas in July spent ages picking them all off and worrying about slinging it out but I’ve kept it and I’m glad solid dense nuggets but not the biggest of yields it’s a bubba cross so fingers crossed
