*Help* Flowering

About 2 days ago, I finished the germinating process and started up my three plants in a field near my house. It's getting good sunlight and it's blocked by some weeds which is a plus. Anyway, I don't want to have a 5-6 foot plant in a field near some local apartments. Eventually when my plants are about 4-4 1/2 feet, I want to force flower them. How would I go about this? Just switch the cycle to 12/12 by placing something over my plants?

Please give me some help because this is my first grow.

Thanks! bongsmilie

you can cover them with with black trash bags to make a 12/12, like cover them at 6pm and take it off at 6am. make sure its completely dark in there. i have never done it but people talk about it all the time.

if you flower them at 4ft you WILL end up with 5-6ft plants. vertical growth doesnt stop when they flower, it actually increases for the first few weeks. if you only want a 4ft plant then flower them at 2ft. Since its almost july you probably wont even need to worry about force flowering. by the time they get 2-3ft tall they might have started flowering by themselves.
