Its not the sprout being planted to shallow. This is a common problem called stretching. This means that the plant it growing out towards the light source. If this is indoor, put the lights about 2-3 inches above the plant, if it is outdoor then put it in a better lite area. Fix this problem or your plants are gonna break at the stems, also if u can put a fan on the plants to help strengthen the stems

Your sprout is definitely stretching. Just like Big Bong said above.... get the lights closer.

To answer your question... YES... add more soil.... almost all the way up to the leaves. Be careful when you do this.... soil is heavy and your stem is weak at this stage... so don't just dump the soil in there... carefully spoon the soil in around the edges and work it into the center around the stem gently with your hands.

:peace:

I'm gonna say he probably doesn't have enough light on them. How many lights do you have? Get more lights on the plant and put them close. If you get CFL's you can have them as close as 1-2 inches away from the plant.

The lights don't get hot so don't worry about burning them. Just try not to let leaves touch the lights.
