What I have learned in all of these wonderful growing teachers on this and other sites is that there are many ways to grow. It is a weed after all and we do know how those survive.

Heat is bad... you need to get rid of it. You could probably grow with it but it would be expensive to run for very little output in terms of light. It sounds like halogen and the heat from that could kill a plant very easily. Plants like a temp' of around 78f.
