Help! First time grower.

I have been growing my First plant since June. (Which is what I've named her:) her leaves are starting to turn yellow and I have bugs that are eating her beautiful leaves. I have her in a pot and she is about two feet in height. I am letting nature take it's course. Can't have her inside, I'm a mom. She has lived outdoors since.
It also has beautiful crystals on the leaves but hasn't started flowering.
My question as a first timer is what should I do about the leaves, bugs, and when to expect buds?

pictures would really help. But if you say the leaves are turning yellow, are ALL of them getting that way, or just the lower leaves? Without pictures I can only guess, but id say as shes growing shes wanting more nitrogen in her nutrients so perhaps you need to up your nutrient regimen a bit more. As far as bugs go, you can go get some neem oil, mix it in a spray bottle and mist the entire plant with it. This should halt the bugs problem. If your not flowering as of now, you have atleast another 2 months if not more before your going to get near harvest time.

Will do! I just have no idea how. Lol I am not one for technology but will do my best. Thank you so much for replying back. What kind of nitrogen do you use. I did put miracle grow in it this morning, as some one recommended but not sure the best products to use right now. the leaves on the bottom are turning yellow. You rock!

yeah thats a nitrogen deficiency. Quick tip, deficiencies start from the bottom and work their way up, over fertilization will start near the top with the newer growth. What type of soil are you in? Miracle Gro? Miracle Gro nutrient will work. Id suggest if your going to use nutes from a walmart or something like that you go with something like Expert Gardener All Purpose, something for fruits and vegetables.

Remember when your vegging, you want your N-P-K values to look something like this 2-1-1 (they vary of course) those numbers can be higher but you want the N-Nitrogen to be higher in value. When you get into Flowering you want 1-2-1 or 1-2-2 for example. You want the Phosphorus levels to be higher than the nitrogen. If I had to make a recommendation for nutrients you would order online, Id go with blueplanetnutrients.com you can get the 3 part system in quart size containers plus a quart of their bloom booster for about 40 bucks which includes the shipping in that cost. The shipping is very fast and the nutrients are designed with MJ in mind.

Be sure your watering the pot until you see water running out of the bottom. Remember you can't over water in one session so don't worry about drowning her that way. Water good, wait a few days until the pot gets good and light, water again. Right now the miracle gro will work until you can get something better. Looking at your pics I think whatever the recommended dosage on the package says will help her bounce back. Wait a few days since you watered recently, see how she looks. If you see no improvement just add another normal dosage to your watering.

You are brilliant with this eh? :) Unfortunately, I have no idea what Npk value is? I have been a smoker for ten years but never grew and am growing now for literally the first time. With no help from anyone cause it's New Hampshire. Lol. So do I get a certain thermometer? Thank you so much for helping me out. I appreciate it more than you would know!

Also by the looks do you still think a couple more months til harvest? Also, I love in weather that will soon be cold at night. I heard my plant will adapt to the temperature, is this true?

I have used MG I feed about 6 small end scoops per a gallon of water, but my pot is 7-10 gallons. I would start with 3 small end scoops and watch the new growth for a nice green color. Not lime colored or yellow tinted leavs. Good luck

Temps can cause lockout of nute uptake in the plant, can't remember what those temp ranges are and what they lockout though? But you mainly should be concerned about the plant cells freezing and rupturing. YOu can make a mini green house or just put a blanket over it at night if it is going to be freezing range temps and she very well could make it longer than without any protection. But if its in a pot, I would bring it inside or a garage or something out of the wind if it gets really cold and put her back out when the sun comes up. I know that you don't want it in your home though.

Brilliant? Not by any means lol, what i'm telling you are just the basics of growing all "green thumbs" should learn early on. N-P-K stands for Nitrogen-Phosphorus-Potassium. The 3 main elements that all flora want for growing big and strong. If you look on any bottle of nutrients/fertilizer you will see these numbers, on the back alot of the time. You DEFINITELY have a few months to go, your not even flowering yet.By the look of your plant your growing an Indica/Indica dominate (big fat leaves) which is good, flowering times will be in the 8-9 week range instead of 10-12 weeks with a sativa.
You will know when you've started flowering when you start to see small WHITE hairs popping up all over in the "V" spacing between nodes and at the top of the plant. You will want a flowering nutrient regimen for that as well to get the most bud for your buck. Remember flowering nutes will be "1-2-1" meaning the P will be higher than the N.
As long as its does'nt get into the 50's at night your going to be ok. If you MUST, bring her inside at night and put her in a 100% dark place with no light leaks, I.E the shower in an unused bathroom with the curtains drawn, or a closet to an already dark room.

Working up from 3 scoops with small end until you get the desired color of the leaves on newer growth, the leaves that have yellowed will most likely stay that way

Indeed, the yellow'd fan leaves will never turn back, they will eventually fall off. But the newer growth that has that bright limey green color should darken a few shades, become a bit richer and have a very faint sheen to them.

Try to find a fertiliser in your local garden shop which has a pretty balanced and not too high NPK value. You'll find them on the packet somewhere usually written 5:5:5 or 10:4:7. Basically meaning 10 parts Nitrogen 4 parts Phosphorus (P) and 7 parts Potassium (K). So the 5:5:5 one is a balanced one, i.e equal quantities of each nutrient.

I use a kelp based general purpose feed with 5:5:5 fertiliser call maxicrop, but anything similar would be ok. It'll give you the best start for your plants if they're in soil. When you have buds on your plant you can move to something which is lower in Nitrogen 1:3;3 or similar. But if you want to keep things simple you can actually just stick with the balanced 5:5:5 all the way through to just a few weeks before harvest IMO.

What time is sunrise and sunset now where you are? The plants look young, so a while to go yet...how cold is cold? Lower than 5C (41f) is really bad for you plants, and they will grow a lot better if they are much warmer than that!
