Help, first plant.

Let me start with a few details:

Seeds: Friend of mine rolled a J, took the seeds out and I planted them because I was bored

Light: Until 2 hours ago I had them sitting near the window of my dorm room getting direct sunlight, I now have them in a cabinet using two 2600 CFL's.

Water: Small/Moderate amounts, sometimes everyday. They were in small pots until I replanted them this morning into larger ones so the soil would dry out pretty quick.

Nutrients: None. Untill I went to HomeDepot 2 hours ago and got some plant food to mix in with water.

One plant is about a foot tall, the other is about 8 inches tall and I want to try to flower them. I am going to manually turn the lights off and on because I don't know where to get or how to operate a timer. The problem is, im pretty sure my plants are dying, prior to yesterdays car ride home from school, the plants were fine for the most part, the leaves were green and none had withered. but, today however, a leafe on my biggest plant has shrivled and my smallest plant is leaning over on its side. As I said, I repotted them this morning is new potting soil wich seems pretty good, packaging says "feeds plants for up to four months" and i watered them with some of the plant food mixed in. I only have 2 2600 cfl light at the moment and I want to get at least 1 more but I could use some help and suggestions on what to do. The leaves for the past week or so have also started to cave down and inward, theyare still green though. I have NOT been checking ph or anything like that, I am really just curious if i can grow the plants and if this works ill get serious and buy more supplies.

Like I said guys, this is my first time and I know I havnt done things like a pro but if you reply and feel you just NEED to call me an idiot, at least throw in a helpfull suggestion too.

First thing's first: Stop using nutes. The soil says that it feeds for 4 months, so any extra nutes may harm the plants at this point.

As for timers, surely home depot would stock these. I don't live in the US, but if it is a standard DIY store, i'd imagine that would be the best place to start looking.

I would advise you to make sure your plants are in good condition before initiating flowering, as this period should be as stress-free for the plant as possible.

For the plant-specific problems, some pics would help. It sounds like you may be overwatering, but there may be other factors involved. Are the plants stretched at all? Do you have a fan on them to encourage stronger stems? Are your temps in range?

The more info (and pics) you can provide, the better.

you have killed it with nutes.
seeds/seedlings dont get any nutes for the first 3 weeks at least and the soil with nutes in it(feed for 4 weeks) will only do a young seedling harm.
you must check your ph and if you are going with that soil use only ph balanced water for the first 3-4 weeks(no nutes).
if the plant has fell over then i think you may have overwatered.

Hey...I'm a newbie too but I know from gardening experience that transplanting shocks plants....especially if the new soil is different from the old.

Alot of times I lose a plant at transplanting - she just never recovers. Just baby them over the next week - hold off on the plant food since your soil has nutes and don't let them dry out.

That's my two cents>
GoodLuck.

I forgot to say that i have had these plants for about 2 months now if that makes a difference on when i can give them nutes. And yes, i do have a fan blowing on them, I will try to get pics ASAP. If i have overwatered the plant, should i try not to water it for a few days and see if it survives?

if its just flopped over prop it up with something and lay off the water.
