Hey All,

first of all i appreciate any help offered

I would like to grow Chocolope seen here..

http://420kingston.com/product/chocolope/

I have a fairly large closet and will be designing and building my room there. I am not expecting a HUGE yeild but at the same time dont want to waste my time. My main concern is designing the box big enough to handle these ladies, being Sativa dominant I expect I need some height to the box. I am planning on doing 3-6 seeds at a time depending on what you all tink will work for the room I have.

My original plan is this;

Size - 3' wide x 3' deep x 6' high (54 cu ft)

Construction - I am going to make it out of wood with mylar covering the interior walls. I also am not closet to the idea of getting a grow tent, the one linked below would probably be the same cost with materials for the mylar and wood. Thoughts?

Ventilation - I have 3 cpu fans that are rated at 55cfm ea. I am going to use one for the intake and 2 for the exhaust. I am going to make a DIY carbon filter for each. Do I need a filter for the intake as well? Id like to keep it as stealth on the smell department as possible.

Lighting - This is where I am having issues with research. I had planned on using CFL's. Putting 4 sockets on the 2 side walls, with Y adapters and 4 sockets on the ceiling. Then getting a 20 pack of CFL's, 6500k for veg and 2700k for flower. Then I realized i need 5000 lum min per square foot. With a 42w bulb only giving me 2600 lum it seems like I would need tons of bulbs and it hardly seems cost effective. I dont mind spending up to 200-250 on lighting but dont want to go crazy. I like the idea of CFL's (esp because of the lack of heat) but am concerned it wont be enough light for these ladies to get busty :)

So, I guess I should recap my questions

size - with only 3-6 ladies, am I being paranoid about being too small? Or is the size im planning correct because its a Sativa strain

Construction - Whats opinions - tent vs hommade

lighting - What is my best option in my budget? Concerned CFL's arent enough

I would also like to say that im not looking for someone to give me all the answers I need, just point me in the right direction. I just decided to do this last week and have been reading and reading but cant seem to find the exact info I want.

Thanks again for any help!

i'd do the tent, if shit happens it easier to take down and move. rethink your ventilation, in your price range I would go HID lighting. LED would be nice but very expensive for anything worth a crap. a 600 watt digital dimmable does both MH and HPS and gives ya the option to dim it down, you can get a light setup for a round 135USD from e-bay or amazon, also sometimes you can find deals on craigs list. 1 word of advice plan plan research plan again patients is a virtue a great plan makes it so much more fun.

if you have a large closet why build a box? A closet isn't anything more than a box.
I would line the closet with a panda plastic equivalent, build racks with pvc pipe or some full height chromed shelving units.
The extra space you gain from not having walls within walls really helps working space, and the free air flow is much better.

Instead of CFLs I would jump into 4 tube 4' T5 HO units. they are more efficient, easier to manage and have a larger bulb selection.
T5HO units are available all over the place even lowes and Home Depot.

For a light weight unit with a Great reflector check these out: http://www.ebay.com/itm/T5-Grow-Lig...130?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4ac55cd45a

For dense packing of T5s with sightly higher lumen output (racehorse ballast!) http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fluorogrow-...218?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e7c1971e2

I have been using both of these units in various configurations and in combination with LEDs. The light weight ones make great side lights.

Great into!

My worry with HID is heat, I cant have a loud ventilation system as I am not the only one living here.

As for tubes, im very open to that! Im still concerned thjere wont be enough light, am I concentrationg too much on the lumens? A T5HO tube is about 5k lumens, so if I did a 4 tube setup on each side I could hit 40k lumens, thoughts?
