Help buying older ipads

was gonna pick up a couple cheap refurb ipads for the kids on xmas and was wondering what will they miss between buying the air 2 or air 1 i know the air 2 is still getting the new os updates but the air 1 is quite bit cheaper will they miss out on much with the older os they're young so wifi only mostly for games and youtube

Greetings. You can click on the text for the article I cited from. I still have a first gen but the screen is broke and I'm too lazy to fix it. I had the screen kit for a couple years now.. uh anyway Im babbling. Maybe you can jail break the 1st gen and do stuff with it. ;-)
Apple stopped supporting the original iPad in 2011, but if you still have one it's not completely useless. It's still quite capable of performing some of the everyday tasks you normally use a laptop or desktop PC to perform. Here are some uses for your 1st-generation iPad.

Skip the Ipad and get the Microsoft Surface. It's the best tablet out there. There are great deals on used ones as well.

Apple stopped supporting the original iPad (iPad price in pakistan) in 2011, but if you still have one it's not completely useless. It's still quite capable of performing some of the everyday tasks you normally use a laptop or desktop PC to perform.

Ever checked goodwill online or one of the govt surplus sites? I'm thinking about buying a firetruck now after cruising the surplus site.
