Help building a DIY 4x4 led light.

I am looking for some info on building a 4x4 led light to replace 1000w HPS bulbs. I have done a bit of research but going through all these forums really just confuses me more. I looked at the HPS 550 and HPS 600 units and they are quite expensive ($1400) each here in canada and I need 8-10 of these 4x4 lights 8 for bud rooms 2 for veg room. I have a perfect understanding of building the aluminum frames and heat syncs.

1. what are the best 44" led light strips for growing and how many do I need for a 4x4 setup?
2. What is the best driver that will run the 4x4 setup? (A built in dimmer would be a bonus)
3. Are there any specific connectors I should purchase that will make connecting the light strips in sequence easier or how does that work?
Any links too parts I need are greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance :)

There is no one driver that is best because it depends on the voltage of the strip you use and how that fits into the drivers range and then also if you use a constant current driver or a constant voltage.

Check out the link and look for his 4x4 or 5x5 set ups.
We now have gen 3 bridgelux strips, if you can find gen 2 as he uses then you should be able to get them cheap.
The 4 foot ones like this BXEB-L1120Z-35E4000-C-B3 https://www.digikey.co.uk/product-detail/en/bridgelux/BXEB-L1120Z-35E4000-C-B3/976-1732-ND/7907661
are only £6 where I am. At 40v you could run each to get around 50w per strip so 12 of them would be 600w which is what I would want to replace a 1000w HPS. Though the more you use the softer you run them to get the same total wattage and the higher lm/w you will get out of them.
