Help--400 watt ballast wont turn on

i have a hypotek 400w hps- mh dimable ballast. 1 grow under it. i bought a new bulb and nothing.check braker and all that still no power to my ballast

any help please

Did you buy a new bulb because of no light? Do you have a multimeter? Or take it to a hydro store and ask them to check it.

theres no hum to the ballast.i thought maybe the bulb was a dead but i tryed a new bulb. the ballast has barely been used

i had the exact same problem. I had my 600watt HPS kit for about 2 weeks when one day i woke up to it being turned off, when my timer should of had it on. I tried moving it to different sockets etc and re-screwing the bulb. This is what i think you should do as its what i did and i have a new one now - 1. take the plug off and check the fuse is still ok. 2. if this fails then take it back to your hydro store (best to ring them first) and they should change it just like they did mine.
