It looks like nutrient burn or nutrient lock, either way I would flush them with 5.7ph water and refrain from nutrients until they look better.

cheers the advice, ill stop adding nutrients. is this a definite? i was looking at the FAQ and thought it could be a calcium deficiency?

Is the discolouration starting at the tips and perimeters? Is it starting yellow then turning brown? Do you have brown/rusty isolated spots? If yes to all then you have nutrient burn cause by lock out where ph fluctuation causes mobile nutrients to remain in one place to long causing burn. If no to any of the q's then I would say you had multiple deficiencies, Nitrogen and cal -mag as the necrosis looks similar. But I would still flush with 5.7 ph water first.

alright cheers for the advice, i dont have a ph testing kit so should i go buy some bottled water, is that more likely to be nearer 5.7ph?
thanks once again

no bottled water varies greatly. My best advice is go onto ebay and get one fast, it is the most valuable piece of equipment you need. mine cost £10 for a digital pen.g luck:joint:

It looks to me like you are feeding them a nutrient that is mixed too strong. Flush away.............. Unfortunately, the damage is done. Usually presents in the leaf and if turned around in time you should be okay. You need to preserve as many leafs as possible as these are storage bins for nutition. You can cut away the damaged portions of the leaves as there is no changing that but leave any healthy parts of the leaf you can.

thanks for the advice, i've now ordered a digital ph tester so hopefully that will be with me soon, you guys really have been helpfull, i was going in a circle, it started thinking it was a deficiency so added more nutes and then it got worse so i added more etc etc when really i should of been cutting back on the nutes, but anyway THANKYOU!!!!!!!
