I usually don't read these kinds of threads in forums, but I thought I would take a moment to introduce myself anyway. I'm a girl in my early 20's, and I am going to a large college. I am also very paranoid about putting too many personal details about myself, so sorry I'm so vague.

I have a couple of other hobbies that help contribute to growing. I enjoy entomology and collect and pin bugs. This only helps a little, since most horticulture experts are far more familiar with the insects that they have to deal with in regards to their plants. I also have had fish for several years. I've found that there are a lot of skills (and equipment) that can be carried over to plants from fish. The most important one is patience! This is more quickly observed in fish. New fish keepers have a tendency to get overly excited and change too much in the aquarium. Every little change places stress on your fish, and too much change will kill your fish! Plants, like fish, require slow change, but they are a little more forgiving than fish--I AM technically growing a weed!

I'm on my second grow. The first was bag seed and was started in a different location. I didn't do much research and pretty much made every mistake possible. I ended up with a quarter ounce of hay-smelling buds from about five plants (would've been more, but I got some severe mold during the drying process, argh!). I'm really surprised I got anything at all, and I was pretty disappointed, but I've heard many more stories of people killing their plants so I'm glad I could get anything from it.

Right now I am starting another grow with bag seed to test my environment and better my technique before I move on to trying more expensive seeds. I'm doing much better, but I am still learning to read my plants and control my environment.

I started growing mainly due to lack of money. MJ is expensive at first but I'm hoping it will pay for itself quite soon. I also have problems with drug dealers. I hope that my money will support someone who is growing locally, but likely my money is going to some crime family in mexico that is taking advantage of poor farmers. Also doing things yourself is so rewarding! :weed:

Okay, that's all. Not trying to write a damn book, here. ;-)

Welcome to RollitUp, a great place, the best place, to learn growing!

I'm glad I learned to grow instead of still having to buy it. ! I do not give my money to drug lords, I grow my own!.

I hope you hang around and enjoy the site.
