I was smoking with my dealer the other day (the same guy I was getting the seeds from) and he told me to be careful, since the goverment, suposedly have some sort of detector (that is like a heat seeking radar, but can find weed) has anyone heard of such a thing, and if it does exist, and the feds use it to find your weed, would it be able to hold up in court?

I dont like when they fly over they scare me. But before I grew I liked when they flew over I would go out and look at them, not anymore. I am just a little paranoid. I would not worry about it.
im from the uk, and here the helicopters fly above wit the heat seeking cams, i wanna kno if thers a way that they fly over and that they cant detect the heat from my lights or hydroponic system, because it emmits alot of heat and in my hood alot of people get caught for that, because the heat can be seen by the cops and they come and chek it out, most people get busted cos of that, i wanna kno if thers anything i can do to keep the nosey ass cops off my back. thanks

EXACTLY right my friend in my area in the uk there have been likr 10 busts in the last 3 months all were filling all the rooms with weed and lights
and bypassing the electricity
firstly a hellicoptor does a hover by scan for possible hot spots these are then looked into by the cops if there is no electricity usage for the property and it is glowing hot they have a warrant in a hour off a judge and hey presto they are busted
if a concernd m.o.t.p calls the cops and they tell them of a suspect growhouse they will scaN it with infared like the predator uses i know he is fictional btw lol
so be honest pay for the electric and dont go greedy or too large scale the cops love finding huge factories but consider the home growers for personal as a waste of there time keep it small and personal and not in a loft and your all set buddy
oh yea keep your mouth shut aswell if any 1 hears they can grass you up and the pigs will visit you anyway if you refuse them entry they have cause for a warrant but when you answer the door they will smell it anyway

You could always try growing it in your basement. The more sources of heat, such as ovens and such, could cover it up.
Which also brings me to my next point..How do they know it's not a fireplace or an oven?

The worst place you can grow is in your attic. Thats how the infared heat sensors pick it up. They see your house on the block has the only hot red spots as compared to the other houses so the know your growing. If possible the best place to grow is the basement. By the time the heat rises to the top of the house it looks normal from the sky.

yeah if ur doing it in ur attic ur more likely to be spotted. As long as u keep it small ur ok. Its when ur whole house is lit up like a xmas tree u get caught.

Agreed. LEOs won't waste helicopter time to locate some stoner's closet grow; a snitch takes care of a personal grower. Helicopters are extremely expensive to operate. They are looking for 'Marijuana Grow Labs' as I've heard them described.

ok hold on iv been told by everyone i know that the plant the weed grows "hotter" than other plants and when the choppers fly over that they can dettect the acctual plant giving off the heat

Umm, I don't think even if they found a house filled with lights with an IR scan they could get a warrant because there isn't enough evidence, its just suspicion. I'm sure they could walk up to your door and smell it though, maybe that would be enough. I know for a fact that cops cant search your premises with out your permission or a warrant.

The plants do infact collect heat, but these is only relevant if you are talking about detecting a FIELD OF MARIJUANA PLANTS in flowering, i like to hang tomatoes of my trees and just grow them in the yard. also i plant them in bushes of strawberry, the strawberry bushes actually support the pot plants.
