Is it bad to use a heater fan instead of a regular one for your plants? Because i can only get my hands on a heater one and its the only way to get the air flow in my closet, I also dont have a humudifier so i use a wet towel instead... But my stems still seem to be very weak, long and skinny and i have to put up sticks so that it wont bend and brake..... Help plz.

And then how would i get air flow in and make the stem stronger and at the same time keep the room warm,,, it is pretty cold here atm and its very cold in my basement. The heater fan was the only way to get both.

dont use it all the time, but you could use it raise temps if they drop low. not pointing at the plant. would just be a better idea to pick up one from walmart

My town is rlly fcking gay and doesnt got walmart, and none of the stores sell regular fans yet,,,, not untill another month

well then use the heater, not blowing on the plant and monitor your temps. if they get to high, turn it off.

i would advise you not to use a heater fan . i have used them in the past and only seen bad things happen. if you leave a heater fan on all day, the heat will build up and your grow room temp can skyrocket. very easily stressing out your plants. i would skip on the wet towel as well . if you get your humidity levels really high your more suseptable to pests and in the later stages of flowering to much humidity can produce bud rot .. eck . ...

oh ok,, but uhhh, does the air that is produced from the heater fan enough fresh air? Oh and btw, this heater fan i can leave it on 24/7 because it auto turns itself off once it gets to a certain temperature and then once it gets cold, it goes back on... So should i keep using it?

You are not going to have a successfull grow without spending one single dime unless you allready have the items needed, you cant allways substitute everything a grow op needs with stuff laying around the house. There is no substitute for a fan unless you want to stand there & fan them yourself with a towel, same deal on the humidifier, you can put out bowls of water & hang wet towels but as has allready been pointed out in your humidifier thread this only raises humidity very small increments.

Humidity levels need to be in the 40% to 70% range durring veg & the plants need a fan blowing on them to stimulate the plant into making stronger branches & stalk, without both these conditions being corrected sooner than later your grow will be effected in a negative way with stunted growth & a plant that needs to be tied up to stand.

If all the light you have is a single 26 watt cfl bulb you might as well get another half dozen of them to start with, then add more later.

Rite aid sells fans year round,so does k-mart,family dollar, meijers ect.

If you can, use an oil heater, radiant heat, doesn't dry things out, on top of that use a small fan somewhere else in the room if you can.
