Heat reduction...is 92F too high?? *Pics*

Been battling a bit with heat in my setup.....I have a cool tube with a 250CFM fan attached bringing in cooler air from outside the cupboard and also an exhaust fan to ventilate the grow cupboard. An oscillating fan is also in the room outside the cupboard to keep air circulation.

The temperature seems to be mainly at 30 degrees C (86F) with variations sometimes from 28C-33C (82-92F). The main problem is that i live in a very hot part of australia and its hard even with ventilation and cool tubes to keep the temp lower than this without an aircon. I've heard that keeping them at these temperatures is not good for them and can cause damage or reduced yeilds but they seem to be growing ok at the moment. If anyone has had any experience growing in a hot climate your advice would be appreciated.

cheers

they look ok, some plants like heat better than others, ive had temps up to 95, might be lighter buds, cooler temps means more solid buds i think.

hmmm interesting...in that case i cant for winter to arrive......im actually thinking of putting another grow cupboard in that room with a 600w light, this one isnt a cool tube though and was worried that it would increase the temp too much. If youve done 95 then i should be alright setting this up. cheers mate

you can only try, check out my 10 day old bubblebomb in indoor growing if you get time, good luck

In my experiance you can still grow some dope dope at those temps.

I think the difference between day/night temps will probably have more of an effect on yeild, extreme changes in temp over short time periods isn't good for any material, especially materials containing large ammounts of water, like a plant, water expands when heated.

I would upgrade the fan If I were you. My temps were near 92 on a previous grow, I got Half the amount of bud off the plant than I did when I got temps down to 80. Go with a 500 cfm fan It should get you as low as you want.

Add Co2 and your problems will be solved. You might even be able to double your yield. You want your temps to be 85-95F with Co2 running.

cheers guys, i got some stuff to work with now! i think i may do all the above.....better ventilation with a bigger fan and could try some c02. ive got some of that co2 enricher and from what ive been told i can add some of that to icy water and put it under my canopy and it should linger around despite the exhaust fan. I guess its trial and error for my first grow

Have you tried removing the intake tube on your light and pulling air from the cabinet through your light? Cooltubes work great but they dont replace good ventillation from the main grow area..

my cooltube and 600 watt hps keep my room at about 93 at the most. i would get more air circulation, to try and break up hot spots. good luck

i cant remove the intake for the tube because its running through another grow cupboards cool tube. I might try putting a bigger exhaust fan for the room and a small oscillating fan inside the cupboard......i think macdadyabc is right about getting rid of hot spots....
