Heat problem. (Pics)

Hey, Right now I'm running a 150watt sunsystem in my closet with four fans going. My temps are 84.4- 85.6 I can't seem to get them to go down. I Removed the shelf above the light to provide more air circulation but it doesn't see to be helping. Also my two plants seem to be blowing around alot which I heard isn't too good. Any help or suggestions?

i have 2x 150 watt sunsystem lamps. its the ballast that is creating most of the heat, try to get another fan for above the lamp circulating air, and keep one on the plants. but dont point it dirrectly at the lamp, this will create a big ass heater lol
also droping the temp of the rest of the house, or room would help. (opening windows,turning on ac, etc..)

Thanks, I'll go to the store and buy another one today and hang it on the right side somehow.

this is actually a myth, or atleast very missunderstood.
a fan blowing on the plant does not simply strengthen the stem from the force pushing on it, it is giving the plant as much O2 as possible, and carrying the oxygen the plant releases away from the plant.( witch most growers have a problem from, but never think of this being a problem, especially with bushy plants)
and the leafs and stem moving is simply exciting/stimulating the plant. witch gets really hard to explane. but i just wanted ta get tht out lol
 
oh, and if you can raise the room CO2 level, and humidity, the plants can withstand higher temps. its hard to dial it all in correctly, but is very helpful once u get it down =]
 
Where is the ballast? I imagine you're smart enough that it's not in the same room. That'd add a lot of heat. After you harvest look into Metal Halides. Lower temps, better quality. Only problem is not as dense. Well worth it though.

Sweet thanks! + Rep to you my friend. Do you know the highest temp my room can get before my plants start to suffer? There are only two and both are just sprouts.
 
well in my experience plants will start to suffer around 80-85. this really depends on the strain tho. some plants can withstand temps of 100 easily, some will suffer at anything above 75. but 80-85 generally.
 
Damn. ha my room is 80 at night. I live in the south so opening a window makes my room about 30 degrees hotter. I just uped the AC. Let's see how that helps.

Wouldnt moving his ballast out of the room also be moving his light out of the room?
OG what are the temps in the rest of the house? Also try just one fan pointed right at the middle of the container they are in. Have it on the floor, blowing up at an angle towards the container. Blowing cool air past your grow and helping push the hot air from the top of the closest. Sometimes less is more. Sometimes too many fans turns your light in to a heater as mentioned.

damn, i live in the NW, i have to fight cold temps in the winter, and high temps all summer and fall. but yea the AC sounds best, you could also put a bucket of ice in there, witch would raise your room humidity, and drop temps probly atleast 5 degress, but its kind of a choir to put a new bucket in there everyday.

It's 73.3 in my other room. Just got my grow room down to 84.9. Yay... I'll try the fan on the floor when I go buy it today. How big? Just a reg 12'' or 20"?

Actually That's a great idea! My ice machine in my freezer always makes so much ice and over flows it to the point where I have to dump it in the sink all the time. Two birds with one stone.
 
ahaha thats exactly how i came to try this. just hit me like a ton of bricks when i wus throwing a bunch of the ice in my yard ( my dogs go CRAZY playing with it lol)
but my plants seem to enjoy it just as much =]

haha Awesome, just filled my bucket and my temp is now 84.6 lol I'll update in a few.
 
I think a 12inch ocillating would just fine. Or even one you already have. I would try it with just one fan on the floor moving cool air up thru the plants and closet.

So take out the other three and put just the one outside the closet at the door and see if that works? Do I have this right?
