Heat - Little rain = Stunted growth

I've noticed this year that my ladies are in no way the same size they were last year at the same time, rain has been scarce and the heat is on, I have not had that much time to water and the difference is visible, the leaves are even smaller but the mass of the plants are ok, not at stellar year for MJ, I hope it rains a lot in August damnit! Anyone else noticing these differences?.... It's been hot almost everywhere....

I have had to water 4 or 5 more times more, then I had planned for the entire grow! No rain in MI this year. thank god it poured last night or I would be hauling alot of water today.

indeed if I had not watered this year all the plants would be junk.

I think the reduced size is world wide due to climate change and various pollution sources, like volcanoes, and oil spills. My garden is about a month behind previous years.
