Heat issues in tent

Hi everyone, I'm thinking about separating my two HLG320H-C1400B driver's in another room to help with heat issues. Does anyone know if that can be done with say twenty feet away by extending the electric cords spliced in or would it cause issues being too far away?

If you have a proper gauge cord just plug in conductors and measure the difference in power compared to without. I'd do it :fire:

Thanks for your help. I'll slice in a little beefier wire and like you said check before and after.

Might want to feed Co2 instead, they can handle the heat if enriched atmosphere!

Your running 640 watts in a 4x4, my light 660 watts and raised temps approximately ten degrees. How can heat be an issue? My 1 k hps caused heat issues lol! Do you have exhaust fan? Fan above light blowing on them? Removing the drivers might drop temps but I like a little warmth coming off the light. Just my opinion. Driver distance will affect it and the draw light pulls. That's why they are attached. A twenty foot cord draws more than a two foot cord. How hot is your tent?

You need to go up a guage for every 3 feet of cable. Better use at least a 12 guage extension. 10 guage would be my preference. I like to go over the top with safety when it come to electricity

Edit : up meaning down bongsmilie

I built a frame with two drivers with 8 and detached them yesterday to see if placing them outside of the tent would lower my temps. It was getting up to 80-90 degrees. I have since discovered that one of the drivers has a slice in the wire and was shorting. I ordered another one this morning. I'm still going to remove them from the tent as my 4" cloud is not keeping up. By the way I'm not growing now so this is for next time.
