Hey Everyone. So this is my first grow with coco and its been going great so far... thought I changed my life.. lol but now this. I started 1/2 strength nutes about a week and a half ago. I went away for the weekend and came back to this!!! I am hoping that its just lack of nitrogen but I want to make sure before I up the nutes. PLEASE someone give some feedback.

as I said I'm growing in coco
water ph 6.5
started with 1/2 strength nutes alongside Super thrive.
Temps are a little warm with 84
Growing under CFL

Cheers (please help, this is my first non-bagseed grow, cant afford to eff this up. Thanks so much)

Looks like a nitrogen deficiency...are you using hydro nutrients? I'm not positive but I think you want the pH a little lower than 6.5 for coco grows...could be a factor, but I'd hit it with some N.

Just took some recent pics (better)

Thanks Jerry, I just want to be sure... cuz due to the leaf tips being burnt like that i wasnt sure if it was nit def or nute burn.... def dont want to add more for nute burn..

Cheers

Is this the only nutrient formula you are using?

If so, I think that is your problem. Your plants really need more nitrogen during this stage of their life than anything else...and from what I can read in the pic the solution is 3-12-6. A nice alternative to that bloom nutrients would be some Fish Emulsion fertilizer. It is readily available at most hardware store garden centers and has a ratio of 5-1-1, which is more in line with what they need right now.

You could probably continue administering that dyna grow though at half or 1/4 strength to give it a little boost of phosphorous and potassium, but use it in conjunction with some emulsion and you should have green, luscious plants.

Oh crap.. I took a pic of the wrong one... i AM using the Veg version of this... My bad didnt even register. Its 9.3.6. Sorry for the confusion. Still need the fish emulsion with that?

Thanks man (+ rep)

Haha, it's all good. Juding from the looks of it your plants need more nitrogen...though 9-3-6 is a pretty good ratio. I'd get the emulsion anyway...it's organic, won't burn, cheap, readily available and plants love it. The only problem is that it smells to high heaven. The first time I walked into the room a few hours after applying the emulsion it smelled worse than 1000 sweaty gym socks...

So yeah, I'd give it a shot. The healthy leaves don't show any signs of burn, so I think they can take some more no problem.

Now that I think about...how regularly do you administer your veg nutrients? I'm not too terribly familiar with coco, but it is possible the medium is just not retaining enough of the nutrients between feedings, causing the deficiency. In that case more N wouldn't really do any good, you'd just need to give it more frequent feedings.

Check out some of the Coco growing related threads on here and see how other people administer their nutrients and compare it to your situation.
