Have you noticed the buds smell less when dried in tent with carbon filter?

So I was watching the dude grows show a few days ago and the topic of drying and curing came up.

They were saying that if you dry in a room with a fan and filter running that could affect the smell of the bud as its drying.

I always dry in my tent with a filter and it smells and tastes great when its done but does anyone have experience drying with and without a filter and noticed a difference in the end product?

My entire house goes thru a carbon fiber and NO

I'm maybe wrong but to me it can't possibly matter what happens to the air after its been in the tent, wether its extracted with a pair of bellows, a fan, or a fan and filter can't possibly have any effect, I'm maybe not understanding it correctly but it sounds absurd?

Sorry i think some of you misunderstood.

Pretty much they were saying if you dry in a room with a filter it can suck the terpenes from the buds leaving the dried buds not smelling much. I thought this sounded like bullshit because my buds always smell nice and i dry in a tent with a filter.

The topic came up because someone wrote in asking why all of their end product smells the same after drying even though they are different strains.

I didnt think a filter would make any difference but I just wanted to make sure.

They probably use something like bud candy which made everything of mine smell the same, never used it again

A carbon filter only filters out what has evaporated off the buds and is floating in the air. If you are loosing all your terps during drying you likely chopped too early.
I dont have a problem with losing terpenes but the question the guy asked got me thinking so I just wanted to get some opinions.

The dude grows show can be entertaining but I dont know how accurate some of their advice is.

I'm using bud candy from advanced nutrients, The bud smells pretty good when I touch it. After opening the tent I don't really smell anything, I have an outtake carbon filter on high. When I close the tent I can definitely smell the lingering odor. But then again I have only one plant growing so I can't compare.

Yes the bud will smell good but something about it seemed to overpower the way it would smell naturally. I used it on a couple of skunky plants and it turned them totally sweet and lost the nice sour that it had

My plant still has about a month left. I guess I can try to stop using it for a couple of feeds and see if I notice a difference, it is smelling a little bit more on the fruity side compared to before where I was smelling that dank sent on top of it.

Sorry for butting in lol lately i harvested shining silver haze and the smell is nowhere to be found, i was thinking that was caused by extraction running to fast when drying but reading your reply i remember that i chopped it at 10 weeks when some top hairs was still white but i noticed some bud rot so didn't want to loose it all.Ive also used AN Flawless Finish. Maby that played a role in "loosing haze smell" as my mate described it after sampling it?Can i put this extraction running to fast nonsense behind me?Thanks

I use the Wedryer, best thing I ever got to add to my stealth set up. Has a small extraction fan with a carbon filter. Like very small. Just enough so the air isn’t stagnant. I can’t say enough good things about it. @Herb & Suds I’ve been really wanting to add my own carbon filters to my house.

I see you're using AN. Did you use bud candy? In the past it has completely changed how my plants smelled
