I finally got my hands on some Mephisto genetics (thank you paul n. chucker at DCSE, I have thouroughly not been pissed using this seed bank like I have been with others *cough* seedsman *cough*).

Honestly I don’t even have any questions. Just really excited that I have some seeds that everyone raves about. I’ve killed my last 3 seeds though so I hope these take. All 3 of them sprouted and died soon after the first true leaves (Not cotyledons) were showing. Maybe temps too high (~85 under QB’s), maybe humidity too low (~50%). Hopefully they’re as good of genes as they are made out be.

Yeah man I’m going to try to get that down. Didn’t Einstein say something about trying the same process and expecting different results is the definition of lunacy? Maybe paraphrasing a bit there but I like the quote. So I’m going to get my temps down, and even though I’ve heard it’s bullshit I’m going to put little humidity domes over them. I had like 5 or 6 of my first plants do fine, never lost a seedling. Now I can’t seem to grow one. But as you mentioned the temps are higher now than they were before so hopefully that solves it.

I put seedling under t5 to start em, then once they grow first true leaves I upcan and move em to better lights/ environment. Rh for seedlings is best above 60%, little fresh airflow helps too.

Do you ever grow any autos? I feel like a transplant is going to stunt them for like a day tops.

Most people will tell you not to transplant autos as their cycle is not long enough to deal with the stress. However I think if done carefully it should be alright. I start my autos out in cardboard jiffy pots and then just transplant the jiffy pot into the final pot when I am ready. I make sure to poke a few holes in the cardboard before re-potting to help it break down etc. That way the seedlings in the jiffy pots dont take up much room and when it comes to transplanting there is little to no stress on the plant.
