Ok dudes Obviously Dr bob has a problem with certain individuals here. I just wanted a friendly competition of fellow cultivators preparing for our cultures day of celebrations. For what ever reason that maybe it shouldnt concern you Dr Bob. Your rebuttal to compare herbs with opiates is usless in this arena. Does the celebration of this wonderful plant rub you the wrong way?

Now back on topic......... anyone wants in???? Ill start my journal JAN 1st with my cuts of choice and go from there.

I am on the side of getting cannabis back into mainstream medicine and society in general.

I am on the side of getting medical science to take cannabis seriously enough to get some studies done.

I am on the side of taking the gift of the voters to use this as medicine seriously.

I am on the side of presenting a good image to the non-cannabis public.

Just wanted to point out an analogy concerning viewing a medication as a lifestyle in the eyes of the general public.

Actually, no, doing fine with the folks here. Just pointing out something folks don't think about much, image.

But enough said. Point was made, and wont dwell on it. Good luck with the event.

Well without hash bash bob, none of this would have happened. Did you forget about the involvement of SSDP in hash bash? Or the fact that the rally helped Ann Arbor pass proposition C in 2004, 4 years before the rest of the state.

You need to stop being so traditionally medical. You are stuck in the pharma drug mindset of how to relate to the public. The fact is, cannabis is medicine for whoever feels it helps them live a happier life. This plant has been connected to societies for spiritual, medicinal and recreational purposes for thousands of years. Voters giving us the okay doesn't mean cower like a slave and thank our masters for letting us have an inch. It is time where we come out and show the true potential of this plant, which I don't think you realize.

Do you use cannabis bob? When did you start using it and why?

And to the OP, I think you have a misconception of what hash bash is...

it is a pro cannabis rally, where during an "hour of power" people puff on campus. There is a small fair too. But it is not a giant smoke fest like hemp fest in Seattle, it isn't a cannabis cup competition, it really is just a bunch of people speaking on the diag.

this is the reason for the 'hash bash' -- John Sinclair was a political prisoner...

After a series of convictions for possession of marijuana,John Sinclair was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 1969 after giving two joints ofmarijuana to an undercover narcotics officer.[SUP][5][/SUP] This sentence inspired Abbie Hoffman to jump on the stage during The Who's performance at Woodstock to protest. It also sparked the landmark "John Sinclair Freedom Rally" at Ann Arbor's Crisler Arena in December 1971. The event brought together luminaries including rock musicians John Lennon (who recorded the song "John Sinclair" on his Some Time in New York City album[SUP][6][/SUP]), Yoko Ono, David Peel, Stevie Wonder, Phil Ochs and Bob Seger, jazz artists Archie Shepp and Roswell Rudd, and speakers Allen Ginsberg, Abbie Hoffman, Rennie Davis, David Dellinger, Jerry Rubin, and Bobby Seale.[SUP][7][/SUP][SUP][8][/SUP] Three days after the rally, Sinclair was released from prison when the Michigan Supreme Court ruled that the state's marijuana statutes were unconstitutional.[SUP][9][/SUP] These events inspired the creation of Ann Arbor’s annual pro-legalization Hash Bash rally, which continues to be held as of 2012, and contributed to the drive for decriminalization of marijuana under the Ann Arbor city charter (see Cannabis laws in Ann Arbor, Michigan).
In 1972, Leonard Weinglass took on the defense of Sinclair in Detroit, Michigan. The case became United States v. U.S. District Court, 407 U.S. 297 (1972), on appeal to the United States Supreme Court a landmark decision prohibiting the government's use of electronic survelliance without a warrant.

and Ann arbor was the first place in the United States to decriminalize herb .... the first
25$ fine for possession--in the early 70s
(man those were the days ...the A2 free festivals ..psychedelic rangers...MC5...the UP)
all because of the hash bash-

for those of you younger people that weren't there ....in 1971
there were 100,000+ headz there! and we shut the city down!!
and it was powerful and beautiful!!
if you spent any time in A2 at the WPP headquarters on hill st with the hippies/yippies/zippies
then you know what I am talking about activism

so for the people that constantly come on the mich forums and say protests don't work.....well

iMO dr bob and his group (CPU) are upholding the states perspective and are doing this so there is not a repeat of this type event
and they have done a marvelous job----of dividing folks on the net

they have destroyed the 3ma site and any organized protests or opposition to the new bills--
and IMO they are in here now...
at least Bob is....but I see more all the time...
since he popped in and other sites are now dead--they are trolling here for entertainment

after all the Internet is the strongest and most powerful organizational tool available in today's day and age--
to organize and dialogue on the 'broader' benefits of the law....
unless that is not your goal and you want to narrow the defined protections like the state would endorse.....narrow protections

Dr Bob does not smoke or use mmj in any capacity....as he has stated many times

he has put it on the net many times if you have payed any attention--
(please don't make me go bk to other sites and copy/paste his words)

his interest is more patients$$
and keeping and preserving the 1cg-5pts format...the CPU and cc business format

and IMO he is only trying to back up the deals he and his group CPU made to the legs to keep their end of the bargain and keep patients in check and in compliance with the bills that just got passed and the CPU group helped work on....jmo( and others)

dr bob is one of the dr that gave testimony to the legs in regards to bona fide language....

youll understand the ramifications of this in the near future when it will be harder to defend yourself in court unless you have been going to bob or a dr that keep records of your conditions .....or you have documentation yourself
like Bob keeps advertising in His services but something most other legit drs do anyways

thanks Dr Bob- for all you do (facetious)
and I didn't know Bob Harris but 'Bobs' seem to agitate things in this forum

and I'll stay in the 10th dimension after this.....it's safer so let the shit storm begin-

knowledge is power-- in case some here aren't aware of the many facets of this...
be a lert the world needs more lerts--

and on topic I think it's a wonderful idea to participate in a peaceful protest/smoke out!

John sinclair is a cannabis warrior. A true proponent of free thought, free speech and the freedom to do whatever the fuck we want to our bodies as long as its not harming anyone else. I have had the pleasure of spending time with him in Detroit, Ann Arbor and Amsterdam. He is pre hippie hardcore beat poet rebel. A legal Dutch medical patient and Michigan medical patient.

when I drop off free medicine for terminal patients. I've noticed they don't care about my long hair.
And let us not froget that we have been hunted and hounded for our entire lives. If society does not like us?? Too bad.

Does the Greek festival make u feel the same way? Or is it just 'evil marijuana '??

Even with all the medical marijuana states coming online this past decade, has there been anywhere in the country with a 500% usage increase? I don't believe our current "drug problem" in this country has anything to do with hippies or herb ...

Its all good dudes. I Thanks everyone here for putting this dude in his proper place........

Learned some good info in this thread. The true intention of growing for me and coming on these forums is to learn and build with my fellow humans. Not just the cultivation of this wonderful plant but the philosophies that are tied with gardening period has gotten me through a lot. I grow and celebrate (farm tours and festivals etc) a lot of vegetables for my community and my self. I grow and celebrate my medicine....... Not sure if you dudes are up on the urban gardening in Detroit. But anywho; Great dialog so far even though the topic has swayed to educate certain individuals who thinks they have the right or right title to evaluate and prescribe every ones personal conditions.

So um doctor. I'm still wondering what will happen when you eat all your norco cookies? Seriously I want to know. Answer me! Eat lots of them. I've tried to OD on weed and so have many of my friends. Please in clear english explain how you can compare the results and culture of opiate use with cannabis use. Do opiates actually cure anything? Answer please. I'm in the weed fight to avoid what your endorsing.

What will happen if someone feed your kids some norco? Define not toxic. Define withdrawl. Please, for all of us doc, set us straight. When someones norco don't work, they take two, or six. I have a friend that was eating 20 vicoten a day (real medicinal right). When my cannabis starts to fail me I grab another strain.

I don't feel the pharmy industry is on the cannabis users side. I don't cure anything, it just creates addicts and money for fucks like you.

Now doctor please prove me wrong or go the fuck away.

I actually do not blame Dr Bob for his views, as he is a product of his professional culture of "medicine". Consider it an economic pedestal shared with other professional cultures like "legal", "political" and "financial". Most of these individuals (no offence meant Dr Bob) haven't experienced "real" life since they left high school for a university, and even if then. I would suggest that the "people" seek no answers from these individuals, but rather realize them as part of the true problems this country is experiencing ...

That said, also take to heart that Dr Bob is a professional that has crossed an isle to support medical marijuana so he is not exactly the beast I refer to above ...

It seems like Bob is on the side of whatever will perpetuate the involvement of the professional medical community, i.e. him and his Dr. buddies.

The gift of the mmj laws are nothing but a stepping stone to get the public comfortable with de-criminialization, nothing more. I get very tired of hearing all this crap about having to be sick with this and that to have access.

Everyone should have access.

He is in it for the cash not the love of anything. If he wanted to do this on the Merk website I would have no beef!

He knows he's doing something wrong! Not helping here!

Pity you decided to post in such an abrasive and confrontational way. Sorry you missed the point of the analogy. Perhaps it will come to you someday.

There is a lot of talk about people not being in 'touch' with the real world. Perhaps that goes both ways. The point being made is that folks that are not in the MMJ community might not see the world as you do, and we need to be aware of that.

And to answer your question, I regularly have folks come to me for help that are taken 30-50 norco's per day as part of their drug abuse. Over the course of many months and through no small effort and attention on both our parts (mine and the patients) I am able to help most of them. That, in fact, is how I got in to medical marijuana.

Now if you and the rest of the board think I just need to 'go the fuck away', just say the word. I appreciate TheMan's comments, but if you guys don't think it is useful, I really don't have the time to deal with your anger issues.

Take care.

By the way, I suspect that chart is wrong. There is a HUGE prescription narcotic problem at the 'tip of the mitt' (Petoskey, Cheboygan) and in the entire UP. I know because I am the one dealing with it.
