i had this idea and i dont kno how it would work or if has ever been done.. works like this...

its like a hydro flood system which is the water with ther air bubbler in it with your plants floating on foam or whatever floats.. so instead of that just pumping air oxygen into your tank cant u just hook it up to a co2 tank? would that be good for the roots? cuz what i would want to do is starting feeding my roots and water pure co2 and then have sprayers on top spraying at the plant how would this work? any ideas? if your confused just tell me what part you confused about and ill try to explain it better

roots need oxygen, the plants use co2 for photosynthesis, so the leaves need it, not the roots, and u need the bubblers going almost all the time so itd be a huge waste of co2

You have some things wrong and need to read up before you start. The system you talk about is not a flood setup its a bubbleponic or Deep Water Culture setup and co2 into the water would kill your plants.Roots need o2 while the leaves use co2 during lights on period with elevated temps close to 90 degrees F.

FF is spot on, as usual.

Harlesjohn, you need to do some reading on basic plant biology before jumping in to a grow.

... leaves use co2 during lights on period with elevated temps close to 90 degrees F.
What FF is telling you here is that plants can tolerate higher ambient air temps than normal when CO2 enrichment is used.

i think you guys got me all wrong it was just an idea from what i kno and i posted it up asking if it would work.. i wasnt going to jump on that and do it i always do research before i go threw with something like this. so it would be better if i had an oxygen tank for the roots and co2 for the leafs

and what about 90 degrees and co2?

Well I think we just were suggestiong as knowing co2 on the roots is a very basic beginners knowledge.Any plant pretty much will die if co2 is injected to the roots it more or less smoothers the plant it cant breath so thats why I suggested reading some more as that sound pre first grow in asking.Anyways the co2 and 90 degree thing is when you let co2 drop over your plants as its heavier then air they need a higher temp to fully use and benfit from the co2 injection. Optimol plant growth temps is right around 78 degree F but when using co2 the plant dont effectivly utilize it all unless temps are higher around 87-90 but not to much higher then that as you then can stunt growth or stress the plants.Co2 is used only when the plant is getting light and the elevated temps so at night co2 cant be used so in an inside controled grow use co2 when lights are on.You also have to counter your intake and exhaust fans to be off wheninjection is hapening and the plants are using it.Keep a fan low to the ground blowong the fallen co2 back up and then letting that co2 air fall back over the plants.Hope that helps a little more..Good Luck

I've seen some really slick CO2 controllers which automatically measure CO2 concentration in ppm, switch exhaust fans, dehumidifiers and aircon units... but they are NOT cheap. You'll spend a few grand properly kitting up for CO2, no problem, this aside from a well sealed grow room with an aircon unit. There's certainly some 'ghetto' CO2 setups, but unless you can measure and control CO2 concentrations accurately, the effect is doubtful.

CO2 is not for beginners. It's also not for tiny ops. Unless you are making a fair chunk of coin out of your op, it's not very practical.

well i would just use it for 3 plants that im using LST, and i get into my build/grows so im up to any challange
