So my mate is growing this girl and she is at week 7 ish and the buds look a bit weird to me, there's a long bit shooting up from the tops, we don't know the strain as it was from a random seed he had lying around.

I told him they look like seed pods to me, but I'm no expert.

I have no idea what strain it is, so I couldn't tell you. Best way to tell if she is ready is to get yourself a scope or jewelers loupe (at least 60x) and look at the trichomes. It's a personal preference, but I like to chop when I first start seeing some amber.
 
k, I will run for a while longer as the trichomes are still clear and I added extra ventilation some temps should come down 2-3 degrees (25C-27C).

You want the Trics to 70/30 percent ratio. 70 percent cloudy/30 percent clear. Although its best you take a popcorn sample to taste it out. Everyone taste is different. Fox tailing is not necessary a bad thing. Lowering the temp will put less stress on your plant. The less stress your plant faces the more love it gives you.
