Has anyone used an instant pot for sterilizing brf cakes?

Your standard pressure cooker uses 15psi while an instant pot uses 11.6psi. So because of the lower psi in the instant pot you have to cook it for like 2.5hrs. Has anyone used and had success with the instant pot sterilization?

well mine only gets to 7.97 - 9.42 psi according to the manufacturer and works fine for BRF and small grain spawn as well as agar and LC. I only go 99 minutes on BRF/grainspawn and 12 minutes on LC. I only ever sterilize 7, 1/2 pint jars at a time and use jar lids with a clean rag to support everything up. Obviously a rag isnt ideal but if you have water its whatever in these little units.

Got it! How did you keep moisture out from underneath the foil? Last time I pc’d I had a bunch of moisture underneath the foil, to a point where the injection holes had rust.

Also thank you for getting back to me.
After PC use an iso'd paper towel and dab off the moisture before inoculation. Don't go over the hole though cuz you could get iso in your jar. Then add micropore tape. Wipe the outside of the tape roll with iso as you take pieces. The inside is sterile enough

Dab it directly after pressure cooking or when it cools. How long do you wait for it to cool
