Has anyone seen this before? Mildew? Insect?

Hello everyone, happy gardening.

I recently put theses girls under 12/12, 600w HPS, because they began showing pistols in my veg room. I had lost 8 due to over ferting. Now these 6 are up there... the one on the left back corner is yellowing again, she was one of the only over ferted worth saving, the other is the tall one in the corner by itself, both are budding nicely, but nearly all of the 6 grouped together have almost white spots on the leaves. Also, the first survivor I was talking about, does it seem like I should do 1 watering with Biothrive Bloom, just to get some nutes to it... Its been 3 weeks at least since I have used nutes and I have flushed twice. I have no idea what to think. I fear the healthy little girls will began to yellow soon if I don't figure this out. Any input would be appreciated, thanks.

Let me retype that a little better.

Problem:

On the leaves, white spots/marks are showing up. Pics provided.

Leaves are yellowing after rebounding nute burns.

Details:

In the group of 6 plants. The one in the back left corner is yellowing. It is one of 2 that survived being over nuted. The leaves did come back green and stay green for roughly 2 weeks. The nute burn victims we flushed twice in the last 3 weeks, two were worth saving, so I moved 5 ovf my veg room plants into the flowering box. For the yellowing plant, like I said its been roughly 3 weeks since I stopped feeding. Is it yellowing now because it may need nutes?

The white spots on the 5 small plants I have no idea where to go with that.

Thanks

...look on the underside of the leaves, if you see black spots, you've got spider mites....if not, you've got fertilizer/pH issues.

Just looked, it is definitely spider mites or some other very small insect. My book here says that I can mix soap (murphy's oil, castille, or ivory) with water and spray. Test on one plan first of
course. But because I am not a good alchemist, you have any recommendations for a low toxicity spider mite killer? Ones that dissipate quickly and I can just spray clean water on foliage to clean? This is my first expierence with spider mite so any help is appreciated. Thanks

hi , it looks like your SM and over ferting has sent you into a whole maze of problems, the spidermites are not only in your plants they are breeding and probably everwhere so not only does your plants need treating the whole enviroment needs fixed too,if you over fert dont put them into flush for weeks, maybe a week because ive noticed on your plants a real magnesium deficiency, which is due to overflushing and has caused a weekness in your grow, which a consequence of this i see the leaves seem to have RUST spots on them too (if your plants are stressed something bad WILL happen especially with an MG problem) they are weak looking and to be honest I would have to cull and really disinfect the grow area, its hard enough trying to keep the girls alive with probs but 4 probs your really pissing against the wind ,sorry im being honest enough to say i would get rid but if you dont the problems will last for years, the spiders need killing, but the rust will be your worst enemy as its air-borne and will get into every crack/vent and potentially could infect for years to come.........all the best ML

tilt the plant, thoroughly spray a pyrethrin based insecticide under every leave surface, wait 7 days for the eggs to hatch and repeat.

Thank you for the input... so you think that I have a MG problem? You are suggesting that I kill off the plants? I have more ready to flower so that is not a huge concern. However, I would like to stick with them. For the MG problem, what advice would you recommend? This is my first grow, I don't want to destroy them yet. You are also saying that the short plants that I have in the pictures also have MG def? They look healthy to me, leaf color wise anyhow. I did just spray the hell out of the tops and bottoms of the leaves with SAFE insecticidal soap. My book here says that it is a safe option, especially since these plants are only a little over a week into flowering, the small ones that is. I could bomb the room, it is definitely not the cleanest environment, so I will shop vac it and spray the walls with dilute bleach solution... I feel like this is not a death sentence for my plants, but if anyone agrees with MEMORYLOSS then I will consider the severe options.

PB89 i totally agree if it were for SM only ,but he has a few probs, 4 to be honest,SB think about the long term and remember your disease will last longer than your plants so it will spread(you can have a good grow but the past disease will linger) and it could confuse you when you have a perfectly good grow in a good disinfected enviroment and it starts to show problems(the past is biting your ass)im not telling you to get rid, but think long term ,the things your talking about spraying when do you plan to do this? if so think about the probs that will also cause, spray when lights on the leafs will bake the spray will magnify both heat/light,spray when the lights are off you risk mould ,and to be fair thats the last thing you need, sorry bro but things go wrong sometimes and dont be put off ,you will learn and get it totally right next time, one thing what strain is it? it may be the strain is a bit suspect to certain disease...all the best ML p.s feed them a seaweed/algae feed from week 2 of veg that will sort out any MG probs, i use bio-bizz algamix never let me down and ive been doin this for 20+ yrs

Thanks ML. I am not certain of the strain. Let me clarify that shorter plants in the pixture have infact been flowering for less time. They are a week in. If thaat is what you are refering to as stunted. I sprayed the soap stuff. I will wash themm with water in a day or two. Also I dropped the temp to 65 as my book says colder temps slow reproduction. I will wait it out for a few weeks. What are the signs of recovery? Thanks

you did good to spray them with the insecticidal soap.....hopefully that will get rid of the spider mites.....now from looking at the pics, it does look like Mg def and they could probobly use some Calcium too.......id take 6 eggshells and crush them down real fine, then about 1/2 tbsp of Epsom Salt....add that to a gallon of water and let it sit for about 24 hours then water em with that....the eggshells are for the calcium and epsom salt for the Mg.....hope this kinda helps.....im like you i hate to trash a grow if i can help it!!
good luck

hi,SB i didnt say your plants were stunted they are a decent height for their age typical clone, ive got a feeling you will see what spraying will do soon(ive never know one grower to get spraying right, and i know a few)as for lower temps that will slow things down but only about 1 week, but plz SB dont despair im not the voice of doom ,i want you to get it right (less money in the dealers pockets) and i hate corporate bas****s so i can only help through this medium,

for the mites, I suggest neem oil mixed with perythrium or whatever they call it. you can get it in any store, usually by some 'neem' derived name.

ML, your input is very important to me. I am going to give this a week, I am pretty certain that I can get this problem under control, but the nute deficiencies and the SM problem. I just check on my girls again and I see far less black specs on the bottom of the leaves. I will be using a pressurized watering container (the kind with a wand) to spray the crap out of the plants in 2 days. With that equipment, I can get a strong yet gentle stream of water on them. I watered the plants today so I will wait a few more before I add eggshell/epsumsalt water. Thanks for all the input everyone, I appreciate it. I will post pics and results in the days/weeks to come.

...your spidermites have laid eggs, odds are....don't forget to follow up with a second treatment....and be sure to get the underside of your leaves very, very good. Keep a close eye out for the little bastards. Good luck.
