Has anyone found they have shorter flowering period with samsung strips

I just had a harvest end atleast a week early ending at the end of week 7 when it's a 8-9 week strain. Im well aware that there are many different circumstances that can cause your harvest to come early but this is a specific question about leds.

I did some research, which I'm having a hard time finding so no proof, and found two science articles that stated certain led fixtures have been shown to decrease harvest time for flowering plants. I will also include there was a study that showed it had an opposite effect on a non flowring plant. From the reading it has something to do with the red leaning specteum of certain led fixtures.

I've only done three grows but each one under samsung LEDs and each grow was clearly on the shorter side of harvest time. Then of you take into account that most plants take longer to finish then the recommended strain time, who knows.

So has anyone who uses Samsung strip lights found that there harvest is usually done on the shorter side rather then the longer side of strain recs?

I don't know about the LEDs making them faster or not. Some say it does, but I've also watched tons of new people harvest early. They still get good bud and ok yield most of the time but they aren't getting the most out of their plants by shaving 1-3 weeks off.

On your other thread everyone told you your plants needed more time between 1-2 more weeks, and you choose to just cut them. That's fine the are your plant but I wasn't surprised, and didn't bother commenting then. But now your posting this......

Obviously I'm not in your grow I can't see everything maybe we were all wrong and they were finished.

Or

Maybe you over feeding them with p, and k stunned them and sped up maturation like we discussed about your pistils turning amber early.

The amount of stress they receive will have the greatest variance on how fast they get done.
I'm running a new nute brand, and my plants are all going longer than normal. I attribute it to the fact that it is a particularly mild nutrient.
It can seldom hold up PPMs at more than 850 for 2 or 3 days falling from about 1100ppm.

The more shit that goes wrong, the more they hurry to get done.

I appreciate your replies but this is about the effect of leds on flowering. Like I said there could be many things that cause this and caused mine.

Independent of what anyone thinks of my grow I'm discussing scientific studies that show flowering plants can flower faster with certain led lights.

just anecdotal but i had the same strain finish a week faster under cmh vs hps. if i was a betting man, i'd say it's the extra blues. it was a 4200K bulb in my cmh.
It's funny you mentioned the blues. That's what makes the super hortilux a great bulb. I also read this article the other day which was interesting. It might not be a perfect article but it seems reasonably accurate scientifically. https://thegreensunshineco.com/hps-vs-led-grow/

I thought it was interesting that they also point to the potential benefit of the green and yellow spectrums, as well as the far red.

I think the real answer isn't in one spectrum but in a great variety of spectrums working together.

totally agree. and i'd also bet that the strain in question by the OP was flowered by the breeder under hps and thats what they based their timing on.

seems that since most breeders use HPS lights the plants would have adapted to growing under HPS after a few generations.the kind of study posted here is the only reliable way to compare grow lights. the lack of UV provided by HPS or LEDs might result in lower resin (THC and other cannibinoids) vitamins and flavinoids than CMH or horticultural T5s but hps clearly provides a slightly higher yield. you can find studies to prove any point you want to make so you need to rely on a consensus of studies to find the truth. as long as there are new growers that are too lazy to do the necessary research to learn the truth and are entranced by technology there will always be a market for LEDs but for a small closet grower T5s would be a better choice and for a large commercial grower HPS is still king.if you want professional advice ask about growing tomatoes indoors at the local nursery or garden center.they rely on solid research and both cannabis and tomatoes are members of the morning shade family and have similar needs

Not sure how this came to be about yield but here is a vid, just as studies you can find any to back up your point, that's pretty well done and stated.

I'd say at best under similar grow enviroments and strains they appear to be equal rather there being some vast disparity? Further more leds seem to offer a great disparity with higher g/w.

By the way, how do you place a vid straight on the page.

Low temperature & heavy bloom feeds can rush my plants, hard to do under an hps but incredibly easy under led's.

Some people try to compromise p/mg def by upping the feed instead of upping the temp for wider stomatas.

There is alot of truth in what anc has said up there, something to think about.
