i think he is saying, when 50% of the hairs are orange colored, but i wait until about 70% of them are orange. or invest in a good magnifying glass, and look at your crystal. you will see that crystal color will start to turn amber (a yellow/brown color) from the clear/white it starts at. when about 50% of the crystal turns amber, it is done by most peoples standards. the more you let it turn amber, they more velcro couch you get from it. some people dont like the super heavy high you get when it gets over 50% amber, so that is why most people harvest at the 50% amber point. hope this is a little more clear of an answer.
