would love some feedback on what’s going on. This is my third grow and I haven’t seen any other plants do this. RH in the room is 45% -60%. High temp doesn’t exceed 83°F. Plenty of airflow in the space, she’s In FFOF w/ 25% perlite.

Is this normal or is there something else going on here ?

Shit, I appreciate the feedback. Correct me if I’m wrong, bud rot is caused by to much moisture either in the medium or general RH?

What’s your airflow like? What’s your RH?
5’x10’ space. 4 fans in total circulating air 2 from top blowing across the grow space, another 2 on the floor circulating. Exhaust fan is an 750+ CFM inline fan with a carbon filter. Intake is around 550 CFM. I have a small dehumidifier in there, large one in the room outside. Average RH is around 55% in the grow space. There has been times we’re I find it in low 60s which is because I need a new second dehumidifier for the basement. Usually humidity in the space is 10-12% below outside humidity (being in the basement).

When it comes to watering I usually put my hand on the bottom of smartpot and won’t water unless it’s dry. That or when fan leaves start hanging

I'm going to assume your bud rot came from a combination of 2 things. You cut off all fan leaves and over fed the plant.

With no fan leaves to take the brunt of the nute burn it went to your sugar leaves. Those burnt and died leaving rotting leaves inside your buds.

Simply put major grower error resulting in full loss of your plant.

Good eye, was still on my first coffee this morning when I commented.

Is it safe to assume, same shit going on in the other plant ? Stems are all strong nothing mushy, tomorrow I plan on cutting a few buds open. It’s only in 2 of the 6 and they’ll be ready to come out soon.

when it comes to feeding these never past 1/2 of the recommendation, and only fed 3 times. Ffof keeps them good until about 4 weeks.

Confirmed here as well. Its as if you threw salt based nutes in @ 500% strength and never watered again.....

Like ever....

So I took two nuggets off each plant and peeled them open and all seems good. Is there something else this could be from, or is the tell all sign the paleness of theses buds compared to the others

If you have no other way of getting bud and you are trying to get high just turn that into a concentrate. I wouldn’t smoke bud rot weed. However we’ve all probably smoked some bud with a little rot. With all that being said:

you can pick out the “good parts” and then get iso alcohol 91% or higher. Just don’t use the 70% stuff. Stuff everything in the freezer, the buds and the iso, for at least a couple days. When you are ready quickly tear up the buds and throw in a mason jar. Pour over cold iso and shake for 20-30 seconds. Pour the mason jar through a strainer to grab the plant material. Then strain the iso/extract through coffee filters. Pour stained extract into a glass dish that allows it to set about 1/4 inch above the bottom. Then leave with a fan to evaporate. You can also just set on top of stove and use the exhaust vent. Wait 24-48 hours for all iso to evaporate. Then scrape up the concentrate. From that point you can decarb it if you want or hit in on a nail. I just prefer to decarb and then make edibles.

not an ideal situation, but at least you can turn your lemons into lemonade.
