Yeah I've never seen that. I'd chop the top off and see if its still viable.if not chunk it and focus on saving the lower half. Are the hairs all orange now on the bottom?

Looks like you forgot to water for a couple hot dry days. I would check anything you harvest carefully for mold, the dead leaf and flower tissue can rot pretty fast. Also I would suggest water curing anything from the dry section that you harvest, since I don't think it's alive enough to cure itself in air. The bottom half looks alright though, I would get to steppin' and harvest it before it follows suit.

this is my first attempt i was giving it a gallon of water a day and leaves got yellow which i thought was from over watering like the veggie plants i have, but found out i needed to give it more when it was 2 late.
so you think its time to pick? should i just cut the top off? its not gonna grow any more on the bottom?

and you say leafy, usualy i prune my veggies i was told not to pick the leaves off of this type of plant, was that wrong?
chop the top off then what? do what with the top?
and yes the bottom all have orange hairs, does that mean its picking time
thou im sure the plant could have done better ive learned and stil excited to harvest what i can

Chop the rotten bits and dispose of them then if u say the hairs r orange then chop that and dry and cure it.i say chop now because wotever has went wrong with the top is working its way down the plant so short and sweet keep the good get rid of bad but imo defo chop....

yea theirs no worms that ive seen, maybe a spider, or stink bug on it from time to time, i think/hope it was just from my lack of watering
Im past the condition,...... my main question is the bottom still growing? do i cut the top off as a whole (cut the main stem) or just cut the shoots off the main stem. Then, do i just hang them upside down in the basement? ( i run a dehumidifier so moisture shouldn't be an issue )

i agree..... you have a lot of close neighbors. If someone knew what it was there is definitely a possibility it was sprayed with weed killer!

The plant sends the "nutrients" (hypothetically) throughout the entire plant so if someone did spray it with round-up I wouldn't smoke it... Definitely cut the stem horizontally above the clean section directly on the stem (not the side branches as you asked earlier). If you do decide to smoke it, make sure you flush it like you're trying to drown an expensive hooker. HOWEVER, I believe since there are no other afflicted plants (similar symptoms) nearby It's also possible someone placed something into the soil and the top was simply hit first.
