Salisbury steak with homemade gravy.
Annie’s recipe (almost; she adds roasted garlic and I don’t) real mashed potato.
The wine is a gift from her last year, local vineyard, and delicious in the bold Meritage (Bordeaux blend) style that would do well with a decade-plus of cellaring. Somewhat tannic, big black fruit, minerally nose, and a delightfully light touch with oak.
