I envy most of you. No cigar, too cold, they will burst. I found a strip of valium and a few soma.

I figure i will break out my last bottle of polish absinthe though.

Or a couple of tubes of testors and a paper bag.

What i wouldnt give for a penchant for pot.

Going to a party put on by a guy who is marrying a priest. She has been living with this three time devorced guy for a year.

Sobriety....

Happy New year bro!!

Well since it's a female priest she can not be Catholic. Hell the Anglican Church was founded because of divorce :)
Hope everyone had a good NYE!

She was a big costeneda fan. We talked enlightenment and was shocked when i told her allan watts loaned me the galley of Carlos's third book for one night. We never got to comparing experiences but she comes to her spirituality the same way many of us here did, that and oir mutual experiences with death.

It was enlightening, her man knows little of her psychonautic past.

The third Casteneda book was the last good one in my opinion, except the last half of Eagle's Gift. After that Carlos claims to be the Negual and it's not very convincing.

Most claims are not...

Read the sorcerers apprentice by amy wallace, daughter of irving wallace. She soent years as castanadas "first". Traveled with his inner circle, the "coven". It cast light on casteneda not all of it positive but for many of us, it confirmed our suspicions.

I still like his work but his brujo philosophy had too many holes.

I still take some important ideas from the works, controlled folly, consulting your death, chanting, beimg at ease in every situation. Like that.

The stuff from Don Juan is good. Carlos's analysis not so much. definitely some valuable stuff in the books, particularly the warrior's way, letting go of self-importance, saving energy, etc
