HALP! 1st time hydro, early stage problems...

I just transplanted these purple urkle clones into my GH watergarden last weekend. Almost immediately, they started looking a little N deficient. PH was running a little high for the first two days (6.5'ish). Growroom is very small, 4'x1.5', average temp is around 80-85. Added some AN Sensi Grow 1 and 2 to around 800ppm, hoping to bring the N up. Light is a 600W MH, at 13" above the girls 24x7. This morning, I noticed white "Scaling" developing on the leaves, and in some places the leaves look burnt. Concerned about light burn, I moved the light up to 36' above the girls and set a timer for 16x8. I noticed the ph was 6.0 in the controller, so I adjusted the controller PH down to 5.4, allowing for the ph in the pods to adjust up to 5.6-5.8. Resorvoir PH is 5.6 and it remains stable.

My questions are:
Why is my ph so unstable in the controller/farm?
What is this scaling on the sides of the pods, emitter, and leaves?
What is this burn on the leaves?
Is this just new technology anxiety, or is something seriously wrong?

Thanks in advance
