Halogen Lights

Yes I would rather use HID or something else good, but i don't have any, and don't plan on spending any money on one. But i do have a 100W 120V Halogen flood light, and was trying to figure out if it would grow, it has 1500 Lumans, and i was wondering if it would work for flower.

A halogen light will work to light a joint off of but to grow buds is out of the question,if your main concern is not to spend any cash thats cool too but dont think regular shit thats laying around the house is going to grow bud,at the very least you'll need an ass load of cfl's.

6500K for veg (K is for Kelvin which in this case is for color temperature)
2700K for flowering

You'll want at least 30 watts per sq. ft. with CFLs to get decent results, and at least 50 watts per sq. ft. for flowering. CFLs plug in to incandescent fixtures fine, consume less energy than incandescents, and are very useful for growing.

Halogens won't work man! They are way too hot and they're in the wrong spectrum.
yes i will have 2 agree, i waz a dumb ass & put a 500 wtt halogen light w/ my 400 wtt mh just 2 get some heat in the room. got my heat and a little plant stretch. dont do it. good luck

halogen will just burn your crop bro, they get way too hot and dont produce enough of the light needed to make them anywhere worth it. if your only choice is halogen then just go spend a few bucks on a torch and try to use that for light...lol...just go floro if you have no other options. late

WOW 100 watts of halogen for only 1500 lumens,,,,, a measly little 20 watt cfl will put out that much light with half of the heat

HALOGENS SUCK FOR GROWING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NO...........:peace:

Halogens produce more heat per lumen then a CFL. A 26 watt CFL has around 1500-1700 whille a 100 watt halogen only has 1500 lumens!
