It's about that time of the year, and boy has this year flew by so fast.I just looked at my calender and was like what the fuck, october is tommorrow already?
I tell you this is my all time favorite time of the year, something about the leaves changing different colors,it being a little cooler at nights, just the all around atmosphere that fall brings,I love, and also what goes perfect with this time of the year is halloween, and as of lately I've kind of started watching more horror movies like I always do around this time, and I've found the classic horror movies get shot down by alot of people, for instance I was watching "legend of hell house" and I don't know if you guys love classic horror movies like myself,I like to get cerebrally stoned and get sucked into these films,I have surround sound system, projector screen, and a HD projector, and when I'm home,I love to watch movies all day.

I seen this movie for the first time, and loved it,It's a haunted house movie,I know what you thinking,oh moving chairs, doors slamming,I seen it all before, yes all of that lol..BUT! the way the actors and actresses bought that certain flare to the film, the music,it sucked you in it,not like what I can say about the modern day horror movies, like paranormal ativity, but the classics I got a brand new love for now after seeing this film.

Don't want to talk to much, but I was wondering if anybody out who loves to watch alot of horror movies around this time, and if so,what are some of your all time favorites and why?

 1. The original 13 Ghosts
 2. The original When a Stranger Calls
 3. Session 9
 4. Cujo
 5. Sixth Sense
 6. Ghost of Mae Nak
 7. Ju-on
 8. Phantasm
 9. Navajo Cops - Episode: The Howler (less than 50 miles from my home) :(
 10. Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

If you are talking classics there are classics made every year, so you might want to break them into decades and B/W and color.
My daughter is 27 and I started her VERY early breaking movies down with camera angles. lighting, shadows, foreshadowing, actors, make-up, and special effects. She's a pretty smart cookie and knows a lot from classic horror to anime to Afican film. She is familiar with a lot more than horror.
Personally Bela walking down the staicase in Dracula will stand up against most classic scenes....but then again this is all opinion :)

Good topic guys!!

Not sure why, but #7 always makes me think of circumcision. cn

Yeah it's a bit weird. I think it may have been Don Johnson's 1st movie. It takes place post WWIII and the guy can talk to his dog. They travel all over until Don is taken underground to a strange civilization where they need "fresh blood" to repopulate :)
It's not a great movie, but it's certainly worth watching if you haven't seen it.

Not a horror movie, but have you ever seen The Man Who Came to Dinner? Bette davis in her only comedic role. It's about an extremely famous writer and speaker who gets away with saying anything he wants to for the entire move...a sarcasm classic!!

I'm always open to new movies to watch,so I will deffinently check those out.Know any more good classic horror films?

The original Werewolf of London..Henry Hull 1938 I think is good. I enjoy the newer American Werewolf in London and Paris. You have to remember that many of the old movies will appear dated, but they have interesting aspect. The genres get a bit mixed with horror, sci-fi, fantasy, etc. I enjoy sci-fi just a tad more than horror, but you can check out the Universal Monster collection to start :) I don't really know your likes...slasher, psychological, gore, ground-breaking? More later. My daughter is better than I am :)

Found this about the universal monsters films you mentioned, figured I'd share it.
