Had a pheno of "Durban Special" that had 13 finger fan leaves, did I lose something great?

Long story short, the plant was plagued with pests from the beginning. I still flowered it hoping I could get rid of the bugs, but it was overwhelmed and just looked like a mess a month in to flowering. No form of pest killer was helping and I've never had an infestation so bad, I gave up on it because nothing was smokeable (yes it was that bad).
Out of 4 females, this was the only one with fat, 13 finger fan leaves. My question is for those familiar with Durban Poison......Was this a DP pheno or just an anomaly?

DP is a pure sativa. 13 finger fans are normal for a long lived strain. I wouldn't toss it out.
