Hacking the AeroGarden

My guess would be genetics. It's just like any other random sample of that nature. you end up with a bell curve. you get a couple of guys with room temperature IQs, a majority of average Joe's and a prodigy or two. the weaker plants just couldn't handle the adverse conditions of recieving the wrong nutrients. in a way this is a blessing, it gives me a really easy way to pick a hardy mother plant.

What did you use for the seed pods? Did you modify the ones that came with the unit? What plant did you choose when you started growing__Herbs, tomatoes, strawberrys , flowers? Which one did you chose?

I started yesterday with the aero garden I'll keep you posted if you wish.

Thanks, O2

I just got the fox farm nutes. these pics are to give you an idea of how far they got with the wrong ones. to answer the question about which kit to get, it doesnt really matter, you are going to need to remove the seeds and and throw out the nutes that come with the seeds, they are a sure way to kill your cash crop.

Feel free to admire my banzai skills.

This may be the beginning of the end of my aerogarden experiment, the motor is starting to make a really irritating noise (clicking). I think it may fail soon. I am not too upset though, if the aerogarden does nothing but get me interested in growing and teach me how to make a better aeroponics system, then it was money well spent. I will keep you updated.

I have been rather busy for the past couple of weeks and my computer has failed me several times since my last update. so, sorry for all the delays. my previously mentioned "busyness" has also relusted in my plants being somewhat neglected and allowed to overgrow. I had made plans to post pics but that is not going to work. my computer is fucking me. god I am fucked up. :joint: chill...

Man, I loved that bonzai that you did...wish there were some more pics, or just more people that did it...

I had the same problem with my pump in my aerogarden...I called up the company and had a new, re-designed pump sent to my door, free-of-cost. Maybe you wanna check that out...

How were you thinking of raising the lightstand another 12"? I decided to use stackable wire mesh (think of fancy and tall chickenwire), was able to control the direction in which the plants grew, and in the future will have additional lights hanging on the sides.

ok i think we started our grows about the same time except i used bag seeds!
I have a couple questions
1: Are you using an airstone
2: How much nutes are you using
3: Are you just using the AG light hood
4: Did you read the AG fAQ stiky at the top of the forum for Aeroponics good read very helpful

Check my thread 6 Weeks in to see a sucessful AG GROW.
