@whytewidow what lighting schedule do u run in seedling and veg?
I do 24 0 from sprout til about 2 weeks when i transplant and then run 20/4. was thinking of trying 18/6 cuz ive never tried that light schedule in veg.

I only use 3 gallon smart pots. Same as last run. I mix everything measured by the cup. I use perlite, ffof, and earthgro potting soil. And when I say cup. I mean a red or blue solo cup full. Not a measuring cup. Just incase that's what you thought.
1 CUP FFOF
1 CUP EARTHGRO SOIL
2 1/2 CUPS PERLITE.
I mix that up dump in my pot. Do that until how ever many pots I'm using.

When I first started growing. That's how my dad did it. Alot of people do it. I guess maybe it's just preference. But if you soak them in water until they crack. They seems to grow a taproot sooner. And pop out of soil faster. But you don't have to. I know lots of people who plant right into dirt.

K that's pretty close to what I got going on just I'm using happy frog and coco loco mix cuz I put two 8Qt bags of perlite in to a half a bag of happy frog and quarter of bag of coco loco.. I was watering around the stem and ran into problems this morning thinking I'm underwatering I waited two days than woke up to droopy plants they were moist when I went to bed but woke up and now they are bone dry... I may have to keep a close eye on everything these next couple of days other than that they were doing good growing fast and steady than poof... The dirt pots are the same as smart pots so they dry and drain quickly

I always do 18/6. I've run every different hour schedule you can think of. And 18/6 seems to have the most growth rate. Atleast for my setup anyway. But when I do 6 hours of dark. It seems my ladies grow a ton over night. They grow during light hours too. But the growth during night cycle is more prominent. And I don't think other than autos. It's not really beneficial to run 24/0 other than to waste money through electricity. But then again. That pertains to my setup. 2 tents now, 2 a.c. units. 2 mars 960 reflectors. 2 Bloomspect 300s. 1 400watt hps. And multiple fans. Cost me about 85-100 bucks a month extra. But I only grow usually the last 6 months of the year. That way I usually only have to use a.c. for the first 3 months or so. Bc our temps drop off really fast during fall. Except this year it's still pretty hot. It's 89 degrees right now.

I've NVR grown in coco. It seems to be to much of a ph issue for me. With the way I work at my normal job. I can't be messing with coco. You gotta mess with it every day. And sometimes I'm gone before lights on and home after lights out. So there's days I don't even get to mess with them.

I have one huge window unit 20,000btu that I made an aluminum cover for. That reduces down to a 4 inch hole with a flange. Then run the silver ducting from like walmart. From it. To my flowering tent. And my veg tent I use a portable one. A little 5000btu unit. Got it from Amazon for 100 bucks.

I didn't know coco loco had ph issues wish I would have known before I started using it I had read that it was a descent medium but never seen anything about the ph issues I know happy frog balances ph on its own I've been phong the water to about 6.2-6.7 today and yesterday before that I watered a couple time but I had used distilled water I'm hoping I didn't screw them up

@Tx-Peanutt but if you use coco instead of soil. You should have evrn faster growth rate than i do with soil.

It's not that it has ph issue. But you need rinse it really good before use. And I've jus seen alot of grow journals of people using coco. And having ph issues. But people who know how to use it and have their setup dialed in. Make absolute top notch nugs. There s no doubt it. Im Not dogging coco at all.

No you'll be fine. Just keep you water going in ph'ed. And every once in a while check your run off ph. Make sure the water running off isn't way out of whack ph.

I'm paying close attention.. Just threw my 600 hps in for flowering and heat is getting outta control.
Were in a heat wave here so I'm hoping I won't have to do anything.. But I'm mid 80s now.
Might have to pick me up an ac unit.

The one I got from Amazon was 99.99 free 2 day shipping. Has it's own water catch pan. Holds about 3 gallons of water. I usually empty it about every 3 days when running wide open. I just changed up my ac setup. Right now I have my tents tied to together on the one big a.c. unit. The first tent it hits is led only, (veg tent) So it doesn't need much. Then comes out that tent into my flowering tent. Whigh also has the portable a.c. in it. So it gets both cold air from the big a.c. and the little a.c. then extracts out to the outside via dryer vent. Into the woods. Both tents right now are holding at 76° and it's still 85° outside. Which my tents are in an out building that's built into the side of a hill. So three sides of it are kinda under ground. If that makes any sence. Kinda like a root cellar. Except the wall the door is on is facing the outside. So it usually stays pretty cool in the room. But when you got 1500 watts of light in 2 tents and in a 10x15 room. It generates a tad of heat.

I have my seedlings inside my house right at the moment. They might get moved to the veg tent this evening.
