Let's see if these gals live up to their new names. Very Interested to see how much diversity is in that line also.
I was talking with the ILGM people about the no-pop, and they are ready to send replacements. But I have 3 to run, and my luck they'll all pop, and they're fems. I'm dropping them tonight or tomorrow and after that I'll probably just drop one with each run of seeds so I have a definite fem. That way I don't need to run as many of yours at a time to make sure I get a fem, but if they all are I still have room.

You know it's Monday when...
Coffee, fatty, get everything together to drop seeds.
IMG_0307.JPG
The 3 ILGM Black Widow are wet. The $8.99 heat mat seems fine for just seeds and seedlings. Window sill size.
IMG_0308.JPG
I'm gonna rig a little heated dark-room for seeds but this'll do for now.

Anyway... I get everything done, sit down to check the e-mail and I get this.

So me dropping the 3 BW to see how many pop was moot.:wall: I'll have 5 new ones in the mail in a few days...

Didn't have to build a thing. Antique hall-tree (hat rack) but the bottom is split, so it needed rehab or just to store blankets or light stuff.
IMG_0309.JPG
The split was perfectly wide enough to slide the seed-mat through ;)
IMG_0311.JPG
Then I just put the blankets on top for insulation. I think this has merit but will probably make something task-specific eventually. A smaller box would warm quicker with the little strip.

Tapped the seeds and they sank, but floated up again because of the peroxide bubbles. I think that is a good sign.
Checked the seedlings and they got their first "watering" which was one spray of RO water on each side of the pot. I think they all look female ;)
IMG_0331.JPG
The flower room is showing some signs of secondary growth on the buds.
IMG_0320.JPG Stacking and plumping, some new little leaves
IMG_0323.JPG And some lighter green areas (top, mid-right, bottom-center) that look like foxtails getting ready.
IMG_0326.JPG
And I'll update the clones on the other page. I jacked them UP!

Oh, @J.James , the Bruce Banner on the left started as a 4-top manifold. I just had to flip them early so I quit pruning shoots.IMG_0330.JPG
Oooooooh! and I just noticed in the pic - 24hrs and no new gnats on the strips! Yay nematodes! ;) or it could just be a lull in their cycle...

They got fed this time, so next time is another dose of nematodes all around. I may even dose up the soil I'm transplanting the seedlings into just because, and seal it loosely to keep it moist until then.

Stoner thinking

It stays pretty moist around here, (various wild mushrooms around) so I might invest in a big dose of nematodes for the yard around the house. Or something with that spinosad in it.

Kind of like putting a dehumidifier in the grow room. It will catch moisture, but only as it is passing through the room, and really doesn't offset the heat it adds to the room. But if you dehumidify the room the intake comes from, you have a better chance of controlling the grow room. Maybe it's the same with the yard?

Honesty is the best policy!

This morning I decided to check the e-mail before the seeds. I relayed how 2 didn't crack, and that I would drop the other 3 to be sure.

Capture3.JPG

I also had a shipping notification - 5 new ones on the way.

The seeds?
IMG_0333.JPG
Yup - all 3 popped.
IMG_0339.JPG
In the dark for 48 hours, then move to the tent.

So, ILGM customer service rocks for anyone out there looking to buy seeds. I have yet to be disappointed by a single one of their seeds, since they replace any that don't germ. Also, they are in Amsterdam, but they have a local seedbank(s) and payments stay in the US. Shipping is quick too.

HOLY SHIT!

So I checked the link to see the expected arrival time, and they sent an entire new set - 15 seeds. SCORE!

And to be clear, this was the last e-mail I sent before they shipped out the replacement:

I'm gonna have to start dating my seeds, and using many small pots, or I'll have them losing viability due to age. Such a great problem to have ;)

Hey @diggs99 ! I may be on to something. Infused mixed drinks!

I had that oil I made still hanging around, and a few pucks of keif, so I just decarbed the whole mess (about 3g). After that I dissolved it in 1 cup of Everclear, then reduced it by about half in the dehydrator on high heat (better infusion?) then filtered it through a coffee filter.

I ended up with an emerald green infusion, and I have no clue how strong it is. :bigjoint: Except that it works!

I poured a small glass of coke and put 5 drops in it. I think the alcohol continues to evaporate, because I couldn't taste it much - but it was only 5 drops. Initially there was a sheen on the coke, but it went away. I don't know if it mixed with the coke, or what.

So I will be trying this in the future with better calculations on approximate THC content. You could put drops on hot food and the alcohol will be gone in a heartbeat. Maybe better than budder or oil for versatility - cant do cold drinks with those.

I'll have to try it in the morning with a clear head and figure out what the dosage should be. Anyone know of a cheap at-home THC tester?

I found one for $10/test (5 per kit) at compassionateanalytics.com with bulk discounts for anyone that is thinking about it. I may end up trying this in the future just once to get an idea of what the actual content is compared to what I have been guessing. At least I would have a better guess in the future.

The Royal Mystery are loving life. Those plastic cups have a few squirts of water in them to keep the humidity up. Luckily, my humidity hovers around 50-60% in the house. IMG_0360.JPG
And the flower room is still flowering. Estimating an end of the month harvest on at least one of them.
IMG_0350.JPG
I culled one of the clones.
One of the ones I didn't top took off, and has 4 limbs coming off the bottom, and more up top. I pruned away starting in the middle and was surprised. After she gets bigger and I can clean it up better I am curious where those 4 came from. 2 may be sprouts of the 2 limbs I expected to have there, but if so they are sturdy enough to leave for now.
IMG_0345.JPG
But this one is just taking up space. IMG_0346.JPG
I am going to save the soil, so I'll dissect her carefully and post stuff on the monster-crop page. I think seeing where she's at might give me a clue on how and when to feed the others.

Everything is un-tied now, and I'm going to top them off with soil and start training in a few days.IMG_0348.JPG

Smoked another fatty... thinking on the keyboard.

I think that having 6 seeds/seedlings going right now is actually good for my rotation. If I just count the clones as a side project, I have about a month left on the flowering plants, and the babies will be ready for flower at about that time.

I may be better served to just start thinking of each room as a separate grow. Keep the plants in the same room start to finish instead of having a veg and flower room. That means I can just start training the clones to fit the 3x3 now, then I have the 3x4 for the seedlings.

I can then time the next seed drop to coincide with the clone harvest - and so on.

DAMN! Accidentally brilliant! LOL

Definitely need another light for the tent in case the plants go longer. I have a 300w and a 600/1200w veg/bloom-switch blurple in a drawer, but I hate them. They are a gift for the next grower I meet ;)

Everyone was hungry at the same time, so I gave them a second dose of nematodes.
IMG_0380.JPG The Banner is really plumping up well - fuzzy little bastard ;)
IMG_0382.JPG
The clones got a dose too. They are getting LST'd either tonight or tomorrow depending on if the next bowl gets me moving or puts me to sleep ;) IMG_0384.JPGAnd I even gave the babies a few squirts. They get company tomorrow, hopefully they'll have 3 little girls to pick on soon.

Almost forgot my stealth grow ;). I think that I'll just feed her the run-off from the clones when I feed them. other than that she'd on her own.

And last but not least, Christmas in July is there for a reason. If you still have that turkey in the freezer that you got on sale in January you need to cook that bitch! :)

More stoner stuff ;)

I read an article about how the moon affected weed. Like, when it is waxing (getting full) the plants tend to be more top-growth specific, and when it is waning they tend more towards root growth. It also suggested that it affects when you should harvest (almost full moon). For what it's worth...
