the black thing is a large airstone, it distributes the air more evenly. You can find an airstone at pet shops

Yea its like a flexible buble airtube? Reminds me of a soaker hose but smaller. I don't think I have seen something exactly like that, but an airstone should do you the same thing. I use the larger rectanular ones. Airstones break up the bubles alot more and that thing looks more like some of the soft black tubing you use for co2 with holes in it.

the ACTUAL NAME is a "BUBBLE-WAND".... they sell them in various sizes at fish stores....im a big fish guy as well as grower. youre welcome
