I'm reposting this under a new heading that will hopefully draw in some gurus.

I have a plant with four branches coming up from the base(I FIM it @ Day 9 veg) and one of the four branches(the other three have female pistils and flowers developing) went hermie.

In an attempt to save the plant, should I just cut off this one branch at the base, saving the other three?????

You are inbetween a rock and a hard place here. Your options are : pluck the balls off by hand and hope you get them all or cut the branch off.

Pros / cons of each:
Pluck da balls "teehee" You must do this before they banana out. Hence pluck the balls fast, try not to crack them or your going to pollinate
Cut the branch : Sure fire way to get rid of the balls but on the same note you are going to stress the shit out of the plant and possibly cause the other branches to hermi.

Long story short, bummer.... flip a quarter.

I agree with you 100%. I flipped the coin and cutting off the entire branch won.

At least I'll see if this stress does cause the others to go hermie or to continue to flower. Either way it's a learning experience.

Thanks for your post!

i had the same problem a couple of weeks ago. I would say kill the whole plant, the hermying won't just stay with the one branch.

I had one branch go hermie on me and then all the others were soon to follow. I took it out of the flower room when I found the balls; I wanted to keep it and see if the other branches would turn out cause this plant was looking strong. Within another couple of days all the branches had them coming out. The plant was about 3 weeks into flower and had buds sites all over, pollen was busting out everywhere.

My advice, chop the whole thing down.

Thanks man, I'll probably end up doing just that, but since I have a small window, I'll watch it closely. But if I see any balls develop on any of the other branches, out it goes.
