First off...respect GrowRock. I enjoy reading your posts. This is another example of your sincerity. I fully appreciate what you are saying.
It brings me great sadness to see people who are hurt, sick, and in distress. I have been working with many different patients for years before my son's accident. It is a sick twist of irony and fate that my son became a patient. The only silver lining was that I had acquired basic growing knowledge and an understanding of CRPS prior to his accident.
I like to think that I have a good dose of empathy. I think that's why within our group I tended to be the one to deal with the EOL patients. EOL patients were not charged anything, and care went beyond just dropping off some meds. I'm no hero or saint, I think many of the RIU members would do the same thing if they had the opportunity.
I worry about all my kids future. Yes I have thought about what my son would do without my help. It is a huge concern.
Sadly over the years I have seen abuse by some when generosity has been provided. I suppose it is inevitable.
It has taken a long time to form my opinion on this issue. I believe that everyone should be able to grow, or buy from multiple sources. If everyone was allowed to grow I am confident that the good folks would help the needy folks. I have to believe in the good nature of humankind. I think lots of people would step up to the plate for others if they had the means to help.
