Growing shrooms outdoors?

whould ne one have any advice on this? i live in ohio. what would be the best strain? the best time to put them out? i know about starting cultures from the spores in syringes...just looking for some words of wisdom, never grown out doors, but i know so many ppl who want shrooms like crazy but no one ever has them. sound like a good investment ay?i want like a 10 sqfoot outdoor garden. that would be awesome.

Its possible. It would be much easier and controlled if you did an indoor garden though.
One way, you can put your spent substrates/cakes in the ground and check them out and see if any mushrooms sprouted over time :p
You would probably need some wet grass or some type of thing to keep the relative humidity above 90%, because that is the RH when mushrooms fruit.

cant do it ondoors allready got a grow so dont need two, im my opintion. and ive hurd you dont have to worrie about contaminationa nd the whole humidity thing as near as much......would it really workm if a cow ate mushroom spore? cuz my gpa as 2 steers=D that would be the shit.and uro ill do that...but back to the cow thing... is that possible? or fucking retarted?

? you already got a grow? like as in weed? i dont think you understand how easy it is to grow shrooms indoors and youll get a better results indoors look up the bulk monotubs its not like your gonna need a whole room for this shtuff mate lol

okay ill think about a smaller indoor grow for shroooms..that would be nice for me..but i still want a GIANT patch of shrooms outside. i want bulk son lol.

thats how P cubensis grows in the wild. Cows and horses have multiple stomachs and digest their food very slowly, over weeks. While the grass with spores is digesting, it is also incubating. if the conditions, IE humidity, temp, and sun exposure are within range, then bing....mushrooms. The geese drop them off as the fly back and forth from equator to poles, cows eat the spores, we get caps. No, its not a dumb idea, thats where i used to get ALL my mushrooms from, pounds upon pounds

You can grow a huge amount of shrooms really fast indoors.
And really the biggest expense will be buying the mushroom spores from a spore retailer.

Edit: actually the biggest expense would be a pressure cooker. You can still use a large pot on the stove, but that is only sufficient for BRF cakes or you could do BRF to bulk.
If you already have a pressure cooker, then your good to go.

yea indoors is the way to go but you could still use the steer manure since its free just put that in some jars and put a layer of vermiculite on top and pressure cook that would be better than brf.

lol you think ppl growing shrooms big are doing it outside? ppl jsut pick the shrooms that grow naturally outside ive never really seen anyone try to crop outside

but dude if you want big just get a big culture together and get abunch of mono tubs going and youll get yield

if you grow outdoors, you arnt going to get caught. and what would you feed the cow? some spores or just a mushroom? and why dont ppl do big outdoor grows? oh and i gotta pressure cooker so thats all good..

I would personally say go indoor. I have 2 grows going now too.
And you know that everything is sterile and there isnt anything fucking around with your mushies.

You guys are funny, making me laugh.. Ok, so now, cause of the season, you would have to go indoors. In the pring, take a dried cap and blow the spores out into the cows p as sture, you will have caps untill this time next year...talkin from experience here. You can transport cow shit with mycylium growing in it, just be very careful not to disturb it

yeah i know i would have to wait till the right time, (start then early in the spring) right? and thats all i would have to do? could i just take a really mature sporing shroom top and dust off spores onto a pice fresh cow pattie? if i did that in the middle of the summer would i have shrooms by the end of that summer? im so stoked to use my gpas steers we eat to grow fuckin shrooms!!

All of this depends quite heavily upon where you live. You aren't going to get much sucess growing cubensis in Canada or Azurescese in Mexico or mexicana in the U.K. but you can indeed grow an appropriate sort of mushroom out of doors.

Innoculation in the wild is pretty iffy. You would be better spawning in the wild.

It can be done outdoors, in fact that is why I tell people to burry jars outdoors, the moment they see any contams.
On the downside insects like snails always seem to beat me to them when they pop up outdoors.

Another method is if you have a garage or a shed with a cement floor, is to make a giant cake of substrate and cover it with plastic sheeting.

No, you couldnt just tap the caps and spores onto a pile of shit, it wouldnt make it through the "germination" phase. It has to be spores on the grass, cows eat the grass, mushrooms incubate in the stomach, when they poop and the paties are half dry, caps will start shooting. Dont disturb the mycylium and keep the humidity high by putting green grass around it. DONT spray them with water unless its rain water. If the mycylium is preserved and humidity is ok then they will keep growing caps
