growing seedlings

I plan on germinating my seeds just by putting them inbetween some damp papertowels in a dark warm space but am confused on where to go from there haha. After theyve sprouted can i just move them into soil? And if so i plan to use organic soil that will have enough food for them for a little while without me having to give them nutrients
So any recommendations for what soil to use would be great and how long will the soil sustain the plants before i need to start providing nutients oh and can i continue to use the same soil through vegetative growth and blooming while providing nutrients or do i need a different type of soil? Im also curious as far as lighting schedules, i plan on using cfls so any recommendations for the type of bulb for seedlings would be awesome, and how to water them (ph lvl, schedule etc.) And im pretty much a beginner and dont know much about this stage actually haha so im missing anything plz let me know

You have many questions and I think you'd be better served by reading up on the subject. Many books on the subject, Read through the threads in the newbie forum. This book is a pretty good one to start with:

Awesome man thx :)

no problem. you should be able to find a site where you can download the books via PDF. If you start posting numerous questions about simple things, you might get some flack.Better to post in newbie forum also as members there are more helpful. Good luck with your research!!

Critical - make sure you place the seeds and paper towels in a large sealable baggie. If the set-up isn't air-tight the paper towels will dry out and the beans won't germ.

Good luck, BigSteve.

Do yourself a favor and save yourself a headache. GO get some seedling starter that has no food in it. Just peat moss and vermiculite or perlite and make sure it doesn't have nutrients in it or you will burn your little seedlings. I burned 200 dollars worth doing that. It sucked. Get the seedling starter and put the seed no more than a half an inch in the soiln and lightly cover it. Water it, cover it, and put it somewhere dark and warm till it sprouts. Easiest method out there, and the way nature intended. Good Luck.
