growing room: spiders and centipede

i was cleaning out a basement closet today where i was hoping to set up my first grow (6 CFLs and white mylar). I was a little freaked out though as there were a bunch of spider webs up in the closet and i saw a pretty big centipede which i had to kill

i'm kind of freaked out about growing here now. are spider mites more likely when you see the webs of regular spiders and won't the centipede's eat up my plants?

i'm curios if i should select another area of the house now

any info would be appreciated

eh, I have spiders in my closet, but I don't worry about them, so far nothing bad has happened to my plants.... but I don't know about hte centipedes

get some bug bombs and put them in the grow room...close the door...follow the directions...ya know, whatever you want

but i bombed my basement just because i had bugs...and I didnt see them the rest of the year

Excellent suggestion the bug bombs. But before you use those walk around a check things out. Make sure you don't have any little openings, spaces around windows, leaks, etc. where more bugs could come in. If you do just use some caulking to plug the leaks. Then bug bomb away.

thanks for the great tip!

i have seen those bug bombs/foggers before at stores and this would be a great time to pick one up

yea ditto wht these have said..... spiders wont do out execpt for eat other bugs....

however the centipedes wil eat your crop (the bastards)

check for openings hen bug bomb m8

The area I used to bomb was under my basement. But there were no seals or anything on the wooden door leading right outside. I store my lawnmower and stuff like that down there. And even with the gaps for bugs to get in, they didnt...so I'd say it works alright

thanks doctor. I found a centipede in my soil today while watering, I killed it, but was curious to it being harmful to my crop. I check them everyday and first one ive seen.....and mysteriously a few of my fan leaves dropped near the bottom of my plant....so i think he had somethin to do with that cause the rest of my plants and everywhere on the plants looks healthy otherwise +rep

Dude think nature. spiders are ok. Spider mites is something completely different and the poor centepide you could have put outside

he fucked with my plant so i fucked up his day
