Growing Peppers in Containers

Even though I have shifted my growing from veggies to flowers the past few years, this season I am growing some Jackpot hybrid yellow peppers in containers outdoors.
I started the plants indoors under floros and MH in late Feb.
They have been flowering for awhile now and one pepper is forming.
It has been too cold here so far and as a result the pepper plants are dropping off their flowers before peppers set.....

Anyone else growing peppers?
If so what are your fave strains?

Hi UserF....i think melons are a late season crop? Do you have yours in dirt yet? What strains do you prefer?

Here are my three peppers today....

i soaked a bunch of cantaloupe seeds that i got from some sweet shit i ate last year (don't know what strain). only two sprouted. i have them in pots in my window. waiting till it gets warmer before they go in the ground. those peps look healthy. how old are they? must be warm there. you got flowers.

Thanks closet....keep us posted on the progress of your jalapeno seedlings....

....Never grew a green apple tree?

Here are my three peppers as the sun was setting here today....

ive got some green, red and jalapeno peppers as well as some banana something peppers i think they were called. all my bushes are short and just starting to get flowers.

all mine are planted in the garden, which sucks because they have been taking a beating from some outdoor pests.

wow Wavels, those peppers are doing great. looks like they're in some good company too. :)

i'm going to grow mine out in the garden, prob some banana and typical bell peppers.

what's an easy jalapeño to grow?

also, does anyone know what kind of peppers papa john's puts in with their pizzas? i love those things but i can't remember the name..

last season i grew a regular green jalapeno bush. that bush had so much fruit that I couldnt eat them all. I ended up giving half of my crop away.

they were so easy to grow, especially if you pick them up as seedlings from lowes or some where like that.

thanks, i'll see if i can pick one or two up tonight! also going to look for some of those hybrid sunflower seeds....

i did habeneros last year too, all i did was make some kick ass salsa with them, but no one could touch it! im not doing them this year, one because no one could eat them without screaming, and two because i ran out of space! enjoy the burn!

Thanks! The Bih Jolokia is suppose to be 3 -5x the heat of habeneros ;).

I will enjoy the burn also you can get the flavor and minimize the burn too ;)

Cheers!

Hey, hey very nice, we have a few pepper heads here....
I am curious, is any one else using containers for their peppers?
Habaneros are the hottest I have ever tried, too hot for most people I know!
I may have to "cheat" and pick up some jalapeno seedlings also!

Silk, do you eat those Bih Jolokias? Holy Moly!....
:joint:

Heres a pic of my red pepper plant im doing in rockwool indoor, for the moment, moving it outdoors later on prehaps. It was started on the 17th of april and the pic was taken on the 10th of may.

Nice shots, Bacon and mal!

I never tried peppers in containers before, and they seem to be well suited for container growth. They are relatively easy so far, probably going to transplant to larger containers...
This plant is in only .71 gallon pot.
Pepper update from today
