Growing Outdoors in Random Soil from My Garden?

How important is it to use bought soil? Could I just use soil from my garden?

I plan on growing outdoors but starting them of indoors, so could I just grab some soil and put it in pots and put the seedlings in?

Or will the PH most likely be off and a lack of nutrients? How do plants survive in the wild if it's such a bad idea to use anything but freshly bought soil? :-(

We are not trying to just grow the plants, we are trying to grow them the best they can be grown to get the most out of production, taste and quality. Sure you can use normal soil, but you should probably amend it with some compost to give it at least some nutrient, this is common in growing everything from backyard veggies to large farms. If you just throw it in soil you will not know how well the soil drains, what it is made up of, how much nutrient is in it. So it is very easy to drown the plant or under or over nutrient it. If you use good quality soil then you know what you are starting with, it will drain consitantly and not build pools that you don't see. How ofter do you see quality MJ growing itself? we have been cultivating it for generations to dial it in to what we smoke now.
