So if one was to grow in a city where there are police choppers out and about alot...and happened to live on the 9th floor of a building and the room that was being grown in has floor to ceiling windows...think the heat signature from a 5X5 tent with a 1000W light be a give-away?

Ofcourse, cops have thermo heat sensors and infarred sensors and can see heat in a house. Can be anywhere.

If you live in the US dont worry about it. Flir can only be used once a warrant is obtained at which point you are probally screwed anyways...

i would aluminum foil the windows at least. i think having it grow inside a tent inside an air controlled room you shouldnt have a problem. your only threat would be if they fly overhead and every room in the building is at 75 and your grow room is putting off 95 degrees. but yes watchhowidoit is half right. if they fly overhead and see a heat signature they will try to gather more evidence for a warrant by trying to get inside the room or buy weed from you so as long as you dont sell or let strangers in you should be alright. also i think if you live in an apartment the building is well insulated and would only get a signature from the window if any
Yeah im not worried about them getting heat signature from up top because there are two floors above my apartment. My concern was if they were flying to the side of the building (which i dont think they could get close enough with a chopper to see) would they see the tent glowing on FLIR through the floor to ceiling windows. Like literally the entire wall that the tent will be near is glass.....like a 20' long floor to ceiling glass wall. I do have silver metal blinds in all windows though...so its not like you can just see through the windows.

How would that be different than a 1000w sunlamp for a tan? But some people are just paranoid. I run my grow light 24/7 starting seeds 80 watts with the windows uncovered. Just learned that cantaloupe seed will sprout using the soak and rinse for sprouts. My house has been full of first responders several times they know I have nothing to hide.
