Growing medium question!!

I'm trying not to spend as much money on soil as i have been doing.

My Question is Will sphagnum peat moss with something for N with some added perlite be
sufficient to grow in.. or do i need soil to mix it with ..
this is the peat moss.

they use that in with the soil or you can grow right in that. it will hold moistur and drain really good also.
